*Third point of view*

"Well, it seems as though this ball really is out of my expectations", Damera said, as she and the Mayor came out of the long needed embrace.

"It is a Mikaelson's Ball after all. Come, I'll introduce you to them" Carol replied, "Can I just say, you look as beautiful as ever sweetie", Damera's eyes warmed to her voice.

Carol Lockwood, ever since they met, just clicked with Damera. They had a bond like a mother and daughter would, although Esther was her mother. Unlike Carol and her, with Esther there was always this void of space that never filled up.

Carol knew what Damera was, a witch, and that she was an immortal one. Damera saved Carol when she was just a teen, its how the hatred towards vampires started, therefore Damera never told her she was a creature that dwelled on the survival of drinking blood, but she was not a vampire, nor a hybrid but something stronger, faster and powerful.

More powerful than a hybrid.

*Past

Running

Thats all she's been doing, she quickly checked behind her whilst rashly trying to put the key in the house since her parents were out of town for a while. Tears sputtered out and the heavy breathing made it hard for her to focus on the person -no a monster- following her.

She managed to open the door, ran inside and locked the door. She leaned against the door and slid her back and broke down. Earlier on, she saw two couple out in the woods having their blood sucked to death whilst she just wanted to take a walk to catch a breather. The time away from her parents was meant to be peaceful but now that she got caught by the vampire she ran like hell to her house.

Damera was passing through visiting Sheila just because she missed her. She also was out in the woods for a walk before getting out of Mystic Falls. She saw the girl running into her house, as well as the vampire that jumped in through the open window. Damera flashed there in a heartbeat through the same window.

Carol ran through her house, once she noticed that it had followed her in and she slipped. Just as the vampire was about to jump on her he was thrown off with a powerful gust of wind. Carol looked to see a woman, and just ran to her and hugged her. Damera stiffed because she wasn't used to it, the warmth of another beings contact, but she embraced it. Her stone hard gaze went to the vampire and he burned to death.

Ever since then, Carol prepared herself for attacks like that as she looked up to Damera. Damera didn't stay in town long but whenever she came she'd visit Carol from time to time just to make sure she was safe.

From then on they'd always keep in contact.

It had been long since they've seen each other, especially due to Damera roaming around the world. The two were walking and talking.

"How was it, how'd your adventures go?" Carol's eyes lit up like a child. She never had the opportunity to leave town due to strict parents, but visits and stories from Damera would satisfy her and the fact that Damera would brings gifts from time to time.

Damera was a type of person that never stayed in one place too long. She loved thrill seeking adventures which included a lot of skydiving, mountain climbing, and all the extreme sports and holidays. But one thing about her was she loved "treasure" hunting, thats what she says but really it's collecting items of old relic and magical items.

"It was fascinating" and told her all the thing that went down.

As Carol grew the roles changed a bit, Carol became the mother figure once she had Tyler and Damera adored it since the experience of having a mother never did her much happiness. Carol Lockwood never knew much of Damera's past but never asked ever since the one time, only to result in a grave solemn expression Damera held before. She never brought it up to avoid seeing her in such despair.
