Payback is sweet?

Chapter 5

“Theo hasn’t been able to keep his eyes off you and Chelsea’s starting to notice”. Keri whispered at lunch since she didn’t want Amy or Kim out good friends to hear.

You see I told Keri only that I used to date Theo as I know that she can keep a secret, whereas Amy and Kim had the biggest mouths on the planet, so telling them about Theo was out of the question.

“Good he’s supposed to feel like shit after what he did to me”

“You’re determined to get back at him aren’t you?”

“Hell yeah you don’t treat me like that and think you can get away with it” I scowled

“Who’s pissed you off then?” Kim interjected. Amy was all ears now.

“Oh its nothing just miss Morello and her usual antics about giving ME detention for Keri’s constant talking” I lied giving Keri a sly wink.

They rolled their eyes in unison.

“I’ve never seen you look so good Danni, what’s with this sudden change anyways?” Amy questioned

“I’m just sick of being in the background that’s all”

“yeah but your even more confident , I mean you don’t seem to care that Chelsea King is starring daggers at you, whereas the old you would be panicking” I laughed at how true that was

“Well I guess I needed a change then”

 They looked at me as if I’d gone completely crazy.

“What!?” I laughed

“Like you don’t know” they laughed with me.

“I’ll be back just going to the bathroom.” I said before scurrying away.

As I was walking down the hall I felt a hand grab my arm and pull me into a shadow.

“oww” I squealed rubbing it.

“Hey” Theo smiled

I hated how his smile still made by stomach do cartwheels.

I looked at him blankly without giving him an answer.

“What’s with the look?” he questioned

“Who wants to know,” I spat sarcastically; I turned to walk away when he grabbed my shoulder.

“Wait Danni…”

“What!” I was getting annoyed

“Why are you avoiding me?”

“I dunno maybe it’s because I don’t want to ruin your reputation” I imitated

“Listen I didn’t mean to end it like that”

“Then why did you?”

 He was lost for words

“Thought so” I said leaning against the wall

He changed the subject.

“The guys have been talking about how hot you look” he said as if it was a bad thing

“Jealous” I smiled inwardly

“Well, no”

“Didn’t think so seeing as you have your darling Chelsea”

“Listen Danni...”

“No, you listen Theo you made it clear that me and you are over so if I was you I wouldn’t be talking to me as you have a freakishly obsessed girlfriend waiting impatiently for you in the canteen” I walked away leaving him speechless.

I hated how after speaking to him like that I felt guilty, how I wanted to grab his gorgeous face and kiss him passionately, how I still had a soft spot for him even after what he did to me.

But these feelings were going to be forced aside as I didn’t want them to ruin my plans for payback.

I couldn’t just forget how he dumped me and how he seemed to move on quickly without giving me a thought I had to focus, focus on getting even!
