Mai's Story ( Naru x Mai)

Chapter 7

After our date I took Mai home, she invited me inside for some tea, I nodded and turned the car off, getting out and opening her door for her. She smiled at me and got out, she walked past me slowly as I closed the car door, I took her hand in mine and walked her to the apartment, she unlocked the door and stepped in, I took my shoes off at the door and closed the door as she walked into the kitchen to make tea. I pushed open the door to the living room and took a seat on the couch near the window. A knocking sound went through the house, I got up and walked into the hallway.

"Can you get that Naru?" I yelled back a quick response as I answered the door.

"Yea" I looked at the man and looked him up and down.

"May I help you, sir?" I questioned, he nodded slightly.

"I'm looking for my sister... Mai Taniyama... I heard from the landlady she lives in this apartment..." I nodded and let him in slowly after he got settled in the living room I walked into the kitchen.

"Who was it Naru?" I smiled slightly and walked up behind her.

"Your brother..." She let a small gasp out and took off running, I sighed and cleaned up the small mess she left making tea after I cleaned up I walked out with the tea in cups and set them down on the table. Mai was hugging her brother tightly, I walked over and pulled her off him slowly and held her against my chest loosely.

"Mai, it's rude to suffocate people..." I smirked as she pouted slightly, I walked her over to the couch I was at beforehand and sat her down next to me, letting my hand travel to her waist and ending on her lower back. She blushed lightly.

Her brother was glaring at me harshly and his eye was twitching with annoyance, I smirked at him and held her close to my body, she rolled her eyes and smiled at her brother.

"What do you need after so many years, Yukato?" She asked her brother, now known as Yukato, he gave her a smile.

"I'm here to bring you back to Uncle... He misses you dearly.... He truly does.... Please, come home..." I smirk was wiped off my face in an instant, I glared at him harshly.

"Mai isn't going anywhere, she is perfectly fine being here in Japan," I said flatly, he glared at me, Mai talk to him for a bit before yelling at him about how he left for years. I gave her a small smile as he left.

After Yukato left my house, I walked over to Naru and hugged him, he hugged me back with one arm as the other was placed under my chin.

"Mai..." He whispered, lifting my head up to look at him, what he said and did next surprised me to no end...

"I love you, Mai..." he muttered as he placed his lips on mine, my eyes slowly closed as I savored the kiss. After a moment he pulled away.

"I love you too, Na... Kazuya..." I smiled at him and he gave me a smile back. He stayed the night in my guest room. He was in the guest room at first... He came into my room in a dead of night and crawled into my bed... I sighed softly as he held me close.

It was morning time, I was still tired but Naru wanted his precious tea, and is refusing to leave my room until he gets it, I sighed and walked downstairs to the kitchen and started making him some tea, he came down once it was done and took his cup slowly.

"Thank you," I blinked and thought I heard wrong.

"What did you say?" He rose an eyebrow.

"Thank you?" I smiled when I sighed and went to Naru, i hugged him loosely and rested my head on his chest lightly, i had a smile on my face as he led me to my room again after drinking his tea and leaving the kettle on the back burner to stay warm. I smiled and clung to him lightly, he laid us back down and covered us Just as we got comfy a loud knock emitted through the house.

"Come in!" I yelled to the door, I heard it open and a group of footsteps coming towards my door, I covered my face and hid in Naru's side slowly breathing as the door opened.

"Hey, Ma- Naru?" I heard Monks confused voice, he pulled the comforter to show them where I was, I smiled at them and waved, they smiled back. Masako looked really mad... I smiled and got up walking outside the room and dragging her with me, I closed the door behind me and looked at her, waiting for the yells.

"Why... Why is it that I've known him for so long... And liked him for so long... Yet he chose you... Why!" I looked at her and said something so simple...

"I don't know why... I'm sorry...." It was almost a whisper...

I hear Hara-san yell at Mai, then a small whisper that was barely even noticeable before they walked back in, Hara-san looking slightly better than before, not as mad, Mai walked over and pulled her clothes out for the day and went to the bathroom to get dressed.
