The night seemed to be approaching quickly, and it was just nine o'clock when Sibuna gathered to discuss their plan of tactic when midnight would come.

"This night could seriously be our last," Amber sighed.

"There's nothing we know about this that could kill us," Fabian replied.

"Yeah, but I just kind of feel it, you know? Don't you guys?"

That was when everyone realized that the solemn feeling resonated among them all, and it was no use denying the fact that this could very well be their last moments.

"But let's not think so negative, alright?" Nina suggested. "Let's think about how Sibuna will prevail, as always."

"I'm going to miss you guys," Joy gave a sad smile.

"Joy-" Fabian began.

"-no, I mean, Sibuna will sort of be...over after this, won't it? We'll actually have to move on with our lives. No more mysteries with you guys."

"I'll actually miss you guys too," Patricia admitted.

"Enough about missing eachother though," Eddie interrupted. "We can get to all the sappy moments in the end, but we need to discuss what we're going to do to stop Daniel from conquering the world."

"What is it we have to do exactly?" Alfie asked. "Destroy the book? Take down the rest of the society? Kill Daniel?"

"Hey hey, we don't kill people," Fabian shook his head.

"Even though Jerome sent Vera to Duat," Patricia reminded.

"Whoops..." Jerome muttered.

"Okay, so I guess I'll stay here with the children," Willow insisted, getting back on topic.

"And also when we're there, no one step through whatever sacrificial portal thing opens up. We can't have anyone losing their soul," Nina instructed.

"Just so I have this information," Alfie inquired, "what does a sacrificial portal thingy look like?"

"Like you don't want want to go near it," Patricia explained.

Alfie nodded. "Fair enough."

"And I'll take the Dream stone," Eddie declared. "We might actually be able to destroy that thing there as well."

"And with all that in mind," Amber stood to her stilettos, "let's make this count. Sibuna started out as this little mystery-solving boarding school gang-"

"-not much has changed," Alfie added.

"-that too," Amber continued. "And it should end in the very manner that it deserves. There's no reason we can't win, right? Sibuna's spectacular at it, of course. But even if everything takes a turn for the worst down there, I want you to know that every second I've spent with you guys have been the best of my life. And that'll hold true up to the very last."

"Oh, Amber," Joy smiled and gave Amber a hug, the others joining in soon after.

In the gatehouse together was KT, Daniel Perry, Mr. Williams, and Mr. Taylor.

"The book is arriving at midnight," Mr. Perry stated, appearing very anxious.

"Are you alright, Daniel?" KT asked.

"Do you know what this means?" Daniel asked rhetorically. "What I've worked towards so hard and for so long is finally happening. This is the night. This is finally the night."

"But the Chosen One and Osirion will be coming," KT reminded. "What about them?"

"Easy. Sacrifices." Daniel walked over to the mirror. KT turned towards him, and he stared back at her in the reflection.

"And your cousin, Jerome?"

"I might as well sacrifice him too. Perhaps there's a recitation that could be used to kill them as opposed to taking away their souls."

"You'd kill your own cousin?" KT asked.

Daniel turned around to face her. He motioned for Mr. Williams and Mr. Taylor to leave the room, which they did so that he could have a private discussion with KT.

"You saw what I did with Trudy," Daniel reminded. "You know what happened to Victor. You're entirely aware of what I'm capable of, so don't assume relatives matter to me."

KT withheld the tears welling up in her eyes. "You're sick."

Daniel closed his eyes and heaved a sigh. He neared KT who backed away until she was up against the wall. Daniel brushed KT's curly hair out of her face and sooner than KT could react, had gripped her throat with that same hand.

"I could crush your throat right here and right now, and I would very well enjoy that," Daniel whispered to her. "So I'd advise you hold your tongue before I get ahead of myself."

He released her and sent KT into a series of sputtering and coughing down on the ground as he straightened his tie and left the room.

Midnight was approaching, and some of Sibuna's final moments at Anubis house before departing were the long goodbyes to the children. Willow stayed behind as she promised, and the rest headed in their cars to the gatehouse with Eddie, Nina, Patrica, and Fabian in one car; and Jerome, Amber, Joy, and Alfie in the other.

"It's about to go down," Alfie said when they were all at the gatehouse.

"Sibuna." Fabian raised his right hand to his right eye.

"Let's make this count. Sibuna." Eddie did the same.

Everyone else repeated that one word and that one action as though it was their last opportunity to do so. Perhaps it was.

Whoo, okay. Ending is fast approaching. Maybe 2-3 more chapters, possibly more depending on how it goes, and it's going to be great. I have faith I'm going to make a fantastic ending.

But for now, discussion questions:

How scary/insane do you think Daniel Perry is?

That was actually one discussion question. I don't have many in mind to formulate at this time, so we shall simply meet again at the next chapter. Until next time, Aristocrats.
