I walked down to the vending machine to get me some Cheetos, considering I hadn't eat much of anything in 3 days.

I slept on a chair, only a few feet away from Luke's hospital bed, for the past 3 days.
I refused to leave him.  He was a part of me, and sleeping was already hard enough, and being home while he is up here in this cold hospital does not exactly make sleeping any easier.

I told Leeann and Michael about the accident, and they rushed up here to the hospital.
Michael took it very hard, probably harder than I did, considering him and Luke have been bestfriends forever.
We have to stay strong though, I guess. It's just kinda hard when you're watching someone you love in such an oblivious state, wondering if they will wake up, or just drift off from this world.

I walk back into the hospital room, and sit beside Luke's bed, and grab his hand.

"Ya know. It'd be wonderful if you woke up before Christmas." I laugh, trying to have some humor. I smiled slightly, and squeezed his hand.

I used my other hand to reach up and wipe the tears that began to run down my face.
'Stay strong.' I think to myself.

I decided I'll go back home to see Leeann and Michael again, and I grab my purse, and lean down and press a gentle kiss to Luke's lips.  I walk out of the door, and go outside to my car, to head home.

~
I stepped out of the hot shower, and put on Luke's nirvana shirt, and some baggy sweatpants, and walk downstairs.  Michael and Leeann decided they wanted to go see Luke again and I chose to stay here, considering I got home 2 hours ago, and I've been at the hospital for the past 3 days. I needed to shower. I will go back later tonight to sleep next to him, in the chair in the hospital room.

I collapse onto my bed, and close my eyes to take a nap.

*******

I wake up and see Luke laying down on the bed beside me, fast asleep. I quickly sat up on the bed to adjust my eyes. I blinked a few times, and he was gone.  Just seeing things..

I sigh, and take my phone off of the nightstand and check the time.  9:23 p.m.

I pack a bag with some clothes, toothbrush, deodorant and other essentials and then head out the door, saying goodbye to Michael and Leeann in Leeann's bedroom.  I get inside my car, and start it, and pull out of the driveway, taking the familiar route to the hospital.
