A couple hours later I picked Sean up from Lori. He was happy and looked like he'd been well looked after. "Thank you, Lori." I gestured to her picking up Sean with one arm and reaching out to squeeze Lori's hand. She gave me a reassuring smile and I left the cell. I passed Rick on my way back to Daryl's cell. He slightly smiled at me then Sean. But something was wrong he looked a bit worried. I shrugged it off and continued on my way. I walked through the sheet-covered door way of 'our' cell not surprised to see Daryl wasn't there. I swaddled Sean in torn pillow case and laid him against the wall on the bunk so he wouldn't fall. I stayed up just sitting and thinking over the past couple of days until Sean was sound asleep. Then I copied him and slowly fell to sleep myself.

I woke up early the next morning to hushed arguing voices in the hallway. I squinted my eyes as I got up halfway still adjusting to the bright morning light shining through the cell bars. Daryl and Rick were discussing something just outside the cell so I walked out to figure out what about. "'Mornin' Luci." Rick side commented while continuing to talk. After a few moments of listening to this go on I butted in- "What's going on? Is there anything I should know about?" Rick looked from me to Daryl. Daryl nodded back to him. "We've got a bit of an issue. The water line that pumps water directly to the prison well has been disconnected most likely by a stumbling walker. We need to fix it but it's right wear a heard is building up on the fences... It could be dangerous to fix." After thinking this over for a slight moment, instinct took control. "I can do it." I confidently responded. "No, Luci- it's way to dangerous. Plus you have a child- no way." Rick spat back with a concerned tone. "Rick, I'm the fastest. I know what I'm doing- and I know I can do it." Rick just looked at me blankly thinking it over. Daryl just stood in silence though he looked like he wanted to say something. After a few minutes of arguing, he finally gave in. "Fine. But daryls going as back up- and you better not get your ass bit." Rick said half seriously- part concerned- and part joking. I smirked in return and looked over at Daryl who was still clutching his crossbow and chewing his bottom lip. "We'll head out tomorrow mornin'. Be ready by sun up. Maybe we can get it done before we can rile up any walkers." Daryl said closing the conversation.
