Chapter 5 : The unknown truth

Little recap(to brush up because of my update a week ago):

Edlyn saw a man fell to his death in the narrow road from the window, and suddenly an evil appears infront of her. Edlyn faints.

Edlyn slowly opened her eyes and found herself on the bed in her room.

She returned to her complete senses and noticed a bandage on her hand. While she was examining it she heard loud voices from downstairs.

Edlyn sat up and tried to concentrate but went in vain. She decided to go down.

As she was climbing down the staircase, she saw that her grandparents were speaking to some person. She did make out him to be a police officer.

Her mind was suddenly flooded with thoughts.

Is it about the same thing I saw yesterday? The man who was running with blood and fell to his death? If so, she tried to remember, then... then the evil too is true ??? Oh my god. No, no it cannot happen like this....

"Hello Edlyn, My name is Scott and I am the local police officer here in Ashley village. Glad to meet you" a tall person extended his hand standing in front of Edlyn.

"Hello! Glad to meet you" she said extending her hand.

"Ok,then. I will take leave now" the police officer said taking leave from them.

After Edlyn was sure that he was no where near, she asked, " Granny, what is it? Why did the police officer come? Is everything allright?"

"Oh yes, yes everything's fine. He just came to meet your grandfather as part of his duty " she said with some difficulty.

Edlyn nodded her head with acceptance, but couldn't make out that her grandmother was hiding something.

Her grandfather quickly diverted the topic. "Edlyn, Jordan told us that he found you in the morning in your next room, lying near the window! What happened? Do you have the habit of sleep walk?"he said.

"Oh! Actually grandpa, it is that... umm.. that..." she could not get that out of her mouth. She was not sure what to tell.

She wanted to tell them about the incident last night, a man being chased to death, but she did not want them to freak out.

So, she kept quite. Her grandfather looked at her and said "Edlyn, tell us what it is, afterall we are your grandparents. Don't hesitate to tell us"

"Edlyn" her grandmother called her wrapping an arm around her.

"Yes, Ah, I do have the habit of walking at nights during sleep. I was shy to tell you this, that's it" she lied.

"Oh dear, why did you hesitate to tell us? We never mind" her grandmother said rubbing her arm against Edlyn and comforting her.

"It's ok. You do not have to worry for this Edlyn, it's quite normal" her grandfather said.

Jordan soon arrived inside the house. "Jordan, nothing to worry. Edlyn has the habit of sleep walk, that was the reason why she was found in the next room" Edlyn's grandmother said to Jordan on seeing him coming.

"Oh, that's ok. I feared that she did not hurt herself too much lying on the floor. But it was only a scratch on her hand, and i did first aid for it."he said.
