Quick refreshment : Edlyn was walking further in search, the leaves beneath made no sound, but she felt ice cold breeze on her face. She began to shiver, and looked further when suddenly she felt a hand placed on her shoulder.

She almost stopped breathing, and bit her lip so hard not to shout. She slowly turned back to see who it was.

Her jaw dropped to earth when she saw who it was.

                                *********

"Grandpa?!"  She said her voice breaking.

"Shhh" her grandfather shushed her. She badly wanted to know what he was doing there. Why was he shushing her?

Before she could even think of the reason, Edlyn's hand was took over by something.

Her grandfather tried to take hold of her hand, when she gave a short cry.

"Grandpa!" She shouted, as he tried to take her with him. He did not notice what happened to Edlyn. He turned towards her to see that her other hand was locked in a cuff.

Her grandfather could not make out the other hand to which the cuff was locked to.

A shadow of a tall person appeared from the dark, beside Edlyn. The outline clearly made out, when it was standing only an inch away from Edlyn.

Edlyn felt as if she was about to blackout. She felt her head spinning.

"Officer?" Her grandfather gave a little cry in shock, looking at the person standing beside Edlyn.

Edlyn did not dare to look, when she felt a cuff being locked around her hand. Now, with her grandfather's shout she looked at the person standing  beside her.

"Eric!? " she cried with wide opened eyes.

"Seems like you two are caught at the wrong place in wrong time, I was here hoping to find some clue in this narrow road, but there seems to be lot more than what I expected. I need an explanation for all this headman. You better head with me to the police station, otherwise I would have to take action against" Eric was about to complete when there came a strong voice cutting him through.

"Officer, It is not the way as you think. I can explain you everything, I do not feel any need to come to the police station at this time. We can go inside my house and talk" Edlyn's grandfather said with a stern voice.

Edlyn stood there listening to them, thinking of what was about to happen. Why would we need to go the police station? Is it a crime in this village to roam in the night outside the house? What is my grandfather doing here at this time? Eric ?! Why did he have to do his search at this time? Why the hell did he put a cuff around my hand? I am not a criminal, she thought trying to let loose of the cuff.

"You can let go of my granddaughter, she is not going to run away" her grandfather demanded Eric.

Eric looked at both of them. He somehow felt it was okay to let go of her and to investigate them in their house.

Eric slowly unlocked the cuff and removed it from Edlyn's hand. She stood there watching him remove it from her hand. She thought she was never going to meet him again when he left her near her house but ended up cuffed to him the same night.

She looked into his eyes, which she could make out were filled with doubt on her.  She felt uncomfortable to watch him like that.

"Shall we go inside?" Her grandfather asked looking towards Eric.

He just nodded. Edlyn followed her grandfather, leaving Eric behind. She hated him for doubting her. How could he be so rude? She thought with unknown pain filling inside her heart.
