Karlie threw up once more, emptying her stomach of contents it did not have. Seeing Taylor that way killed her, the disease was eating away at the woman she loved and she hated it. A knock on the door followed by the doorbell ringing echoed from the room, and into the restroom where Karlie was crouching.

"Hold on, hold on give me a second." Karlie hesitated, she didn't know why she was going to answer the door. It would just be Austin coming to give her a hard time for leaving without any explanation. No sooner had the tall model like woman opened the door, she regretted it. There standing in front of her was the person she had ran away from, the girls bald head covered with an head scarf and her facial features hidden behind a turtle neck that was pulled over her chin. "Can I come in?" The girl asked muffled, not pulling the wool object away from her mouth at all.

Before Karlie could reply, a white object ran across the room like a panther. Olivia had heard the voice she had missed most of all for the first time in a while. Or for the first time since Karlie hadn't let the voicemail message play, the poor cat didn't know what was going off. Meredith on the other hand, the eldest of the two cats just stared at Taylor from a distance. The grumpy look on her face said it all, 'not this bitch again.'

Taylor had been fussing over the little fluff ball for five minutes before Karlie finally gave in and let her in the house. "What are you doing here Taylor?" Karlie's voice remained flat and unwelcoming, she didn't show a scrap of emotion for the girl standing awkwardly in the middle of their shared house.

Taylor didn't know how to respond to Karlie's question so she remained silent for a brief period of time. "I'm just here to apologise if I upset you earlier. I didn't know you was in the restroom, I thought it was someone else."

Karlie nodded her head slightly, making her way into the kitchen that adjoined the living area. "Do you want some tea, coffee, I think I have some of your favourite fruit teas in the cupboard still." The brunette switched the kettle on and took out two mugs from the cupboard above her head, not waiting for a reply.

"Can I have tea please, no milk or sugar. I'm cutting out the bad stuff, also it seems I cut out the good stuff." The cancer riddle girl whispered, she still felt guilty over leaving her everything.

Taylor laughed dancing around the kitchen in the thin bouncing light of the refrigerator, she grabbed hold of Karlie's hand spinning her around all over the small area. "Tay! I have to go to work baby."

Karlie knew she wasn't going to get through to Taylor while she was in this mood. "Why did you take the night shift, it's so unfair!" Taylor whined wrapping her slender arms around her girlfriends waist kissing and biting her neck softly, trying to get her to stay. "Ugh, stop it. I have to go."

Taylor reluctantly let Karlie out of the house and curled up in bed with a good book, after she had left something for the brunette to see when she arrived in the morning. The eight hours on Karlie's nightshift had passed slowly and she was glad to be finally home and finally able to spend time with her forever.

Karlie entered the kitchen for a bottled water, laughing when she got to the refrigerator; Taylor had rearranged the alphabet magnets into the joke they had made up together on the door.

Taylor signed loudly, taking a sip of her tea, remembering all the times her and Karlie had cute baking dates in this very kitchen. The magnets on the fridge were still in the form of the joke, the same as they had been for the past four years. Taylor was surprise Karlie had kept them as they were after everything.

"So Taylor, how's treatment going?" Karlie asked, finally breaking the awkward silence that had filled the room. A flash of hurt and fear appeared in Taylor's blue orbs, Karlie knew that look well. "Not good. I'm having radiotherapy now, chemo wasn't working. They're operating again next week so they can remove some more of the tumour."

After a few moments of a darkened silence Taylor noticed the tears rolling down Karlie's face, her emerald eyes puffy and bloodshot. "Don't cry, it's okay, I'm okay. I don't deserve your tears Karlie. I hurt you and I'm sorry. I was scared, I still am scared."

"Then let me be there for you! Like you was there for me!"

The two girls were excited beyond belief when they got the news all those months ago that the fertility treatment had worked. Karlie was carrying their first child, the couple were about to become a small family and that made them ecstatic. Their families had took the news well and Karlie's siblings and Austin were looking forward to their baby niece or nephew coming along shortly.

Taylor woke up in the middle of the night, she had been preparing herself ever since Karlie hit the seventh month mark for her girlfriend to wake her up in a panic saying she was in labor. But that didn't happen, but Taylor woke up on queue at 2:44 am as usual. But this early morning was different.

A wet stickiness woke Taylor up this time not her own body clock, unaware of what it was the blonde turned her bedside light on. Cursing at Karlie under her breathe for putting the table so far away from their bed when she erected the furniture.

The scene in front of the blonde was something out of a horror movie, Karlie was no longer beside her asleep like she was several hours ago. Instead in her place was a deep pool of murky blood mixed with a watery liquid. The blood trailed across the carpet into the ensuite, where the door was locked.

"This is different Karlie. This isn't us losing our baby. I don't want you to go through grieving over me if this thing kills me! You were so broken after Ainsley, but we had each other. There's no guarantee I'll survive Karlie. That's why I broke up with you, I love you but I don't want to hurt you."

Karlie abruptly shot up out of her chair and kicked it across the dining room, her anger at boiling point. "Taylor. I want to be there for you, because I know you can beat this fucking thing. Just let me be there for you. Please Taylor, baby I miss you. Just come home? Back to me?"

This is kinda shit in my opinion. I've been super busy and I've literally had no time to speak to my friends because of uni so I rushed this in order to actually be social even if it's just by publishing a chapter.. Anyway enjoy.
