"It's simple really all we need to do is blame the bitch for it she's not important"
"If our parents find out, they'd be ruined, we'd be ruined, the media would have a field day with us"
"Which is why the gardner bitch should take the fall and besides who is to say we will be found out as long as we cover our tracks everything should work in our favor"

She woke up then, covered in sweat and breathing profusely, she woke up to a new reality.
"Well, I'd be damned, there were two people not one"
An orderly knocked on her door then, "Go back to sleep, Collins"

Next Day

"What's up doc"
"Hi Rita, you look chipper this morning"
"That is such a weird way to talk"
"Is it really", he asked her Smiling. He was a cute man, she wondered why she hadn't noticed before.
"Yeah, why can't you just say you look good or happy or something less weird"
"Because Rita I'm weird and I am also your therapist and I should also be the one asking questions and questioning odd behavior"
"You just had to ruin our playful banter didn't you?
"How are you Rita"
"I'm good doc"
"I mean how was your court date"
"Brutal"
"Really?
"The judge was changed and I am pretty sure the new one is in the pockets of the Chijiokes"
"Hmm, that might not necessarily be true, and you should know better than to say stuff like this about the judge ruling over your case"
"Frank, come on you cannot be that naive, this is Nigeria afterall, much as it pains me to say so everyone is in the pockets of someone"
"Well I cannot very well argue with that"
"The justice system is massively flawed, it benefits the rich and shits on the poor", She was seething now, rage that she never realized she had was surfacing, she could be innocent, she realized that now. She had stayed up all night after her lawyer had told her to remember and her de-muddled brain told her something was not right, why couldn't she remember killing Ada. She recalled part of the night but not killing Ada, Part of the reason she'd walked in here was because suddenly at the end of the tunnel there was hope. A little bit of hope. Everyone she knew might have deserted her but she'd had hope for those hours she'd been awake.
"Hey, Rita are you there, what's wrong?
"Hmm"
"You zoned out for a minute"
"Did I?
"Yes, you did, must have been having serious thoughts there. Care to share them"
"Not really, Frank"
"Come on I'm on your side here"
"Are you?, she suddenly said "Because like I said, it's Nigeria everyone is in someone's pocket, for all I know you could be trying to get me to confess, some reverse psychology shit you therapist do. Telling me to trust you and saying shit like I'm on your side when really you want me to confess to doing it, you might be cute Frank but I'm no fool in love"
"Listen to me, Rita. I am on your side believe me and I want to help you. I don't think you killed Ada and I told you so before, now do you want to tell me what you were thinking about a few minutes ago"
"Your my therapist you shouldn't say things like, you don't believe I killed her"
"I'm your therapist that is exactly what I should be saying, now speak" Command from him, she was impressed.
"I realized I could be innocent last night. That there is something more to all this, something bigger and I'm just the....the.." holding her head in her hands and shaking it in confusion she couldn't find the words
"You are just the what Rita"
"DAMMIT FRANK I'M TRYING TO THINK" she exploded, "Sorry, sorry, just don't interrupt, I'm thinking" There Were Tears in her eyes at this point.
"It's okay take your time"
"Collateral damage, I don't know, something like that". She looked up at him with defeated eyes a far cry from what she'd looked like coming in. He felt for her, he more than felt for her at this moment. He wanted to take her into his arms and comfort her and just shield her from the world. He couldn't of course. They were doctor and patient and he didn't want want to cross any lines.
Adjusting his tie, "Tell me what you remember"
"Remember,I told you that there was one person in the room in my nightmares"
"Yes"
"Well there might actually be two and something they said makes me wonder that I'm being set up"
"Do you remember what they said"
"Something along the lines of, we should set the bitch up, she's not important".They were rude too, calling me a gardner bitch, I did not appreciate that"
"Was this a dream or a nightmare"
"A dream, funny up until last night all I did was have nightmares whenever I slept but this was different, this made sense"
"Certainly puts a lot into perspective Rita, I've had a lot of thoughts on your case" She was about to say someting but he stopped her.
"I'm not your lawyer I know but I might be called in to testify in your case, or give a psych evaluation and I want to be right"
"Doc, I was going to say puts what into perspective, not stop you"
"Oh well, when you were found you were passed out, you might not remember this but there was also a large concentration of alchol in your system, which to me begs the question, how could you have committed the crime"
"Some would argue that my drunken state made me do it. I mean I hate Ada, even more i love that she's dead, what is it they say about your drunken actions or is it your drunken sayings"
"Don't say things like that, makes you look more guilty" Shrugging her shoulder, "It's the truth"
"Thank you for telling me this, I'll talk to your lawyer Peter. We have some things to discuss"
"You got into my head as usual"
"No Rita, you shared this time around"
"Did I"
"You did and I am honoured, the session is over, the orderly will be here any minute to take you back to your room"
Smiling she nods her head in a goodbye, the orderly enters and leads her towards the door. Stopping she says, "Nice cologne, Frank"
