Xander dropped me off at home and I let him take my Jeep so he did not have to walk home but told him he had to bring it back to me.

The days passed slowly until the day of the fight. Sunday Xander picked me up and took me to practice. I had to try my best not to get to distracted by Xander. We did good in practice and Madison was not there.

Monday I had killer cardio in the morning. School was okay nothing out of the ordinary. Extra ring time after school.

Tuesday I ran to school and went to class Xander was talking about traning after school. As I saw Madison out side the window. God does she not have school.

Wednesday was okay till practice after school. Madison was telling Xander something they were to do after practice. She was all giggles and flirty laughs. I could hardly hold back the rage that was telling me to hit her.

Thursday Xander was on his phone all day and I knew it was Madison. Practice was canceled till the fight ended.

Friday Xander skipped school and was late to meet up when it was time to leave.

When we got to the hotel Xander and his father went to their room. Dad led me to ours and I got right into the shower to get ready for the media meet. I got out and dressed in my work out shorts and sports bra. I looked outside it was warmer here than at home I grabbed a shirt and slipped on my sneakers. "Cole time to go." Xander voice said from outside my room. I opened the door to see Xander and Madison.

"Hey Nicky!" Madison said like we were best friends. I looked to Xander for help he laughed pulling his hair back. "I love your shorts." Madison said. When I did not respond Xander elbowed me softly.

"Thanks." I said through gritted teeth. Glaring at the space before me ignoring them was the only way I made it to the media room.

The common questions were asked. Was I ready for the fight? What in my training had prepared me for this fight more then my last fight?

Then the uncommon. Who was Xander? Is it serious?

I did not answer the last question. Then again of course I was serious about Xander he was my training partner if he was not there then I would not be ready. I know it was not what they meant but it was what would have been my answer.

After all of the media things were done and handled I went back to my room. Along the way I bumped into Madison. "You know he is really sweet on you right?" She said as I passed.

"What? Who?" I asked not able to ignore her.

"Xander stupid. I can see it now I tell him after his fight and he comes running strait to you. He will be so broken take the chances and do something with it don't let it slip through your fingers." She said and started to walk off.

"Why are you telling me this you hate me I hate you?"

"Exactly." She said as she sauntered down the hall.

What that made no sense. I could not help but want to pull my hair out in frustration. She drove me crazy.

I laid in my room watching tv when a knock came on my door. "Nick it's time for bed. Turn off the tv." My dad called through the door. I groaned and turned it on mute.

"Okay night dad." I said reading the subtitles that flashed by on the bottom of the screen.

"Nicky off now." He said using his key for the room. "I will be returning in in a bit. I want you asleep when I come back."

I turned off the tv and got in bed.

The next morning was the day of Xander's and my fights. We did not have anything to do in the morning. It was a do as you please kind of day.

The few hours before the fight was spent making sure we were all there and ready. Xander's fight was first and he and Madison could not even be on time. Once we were all ready Xander showed up with out Madison. He was quite and rushed to get ready. I was not one to normally complain about a lack of Madison but Xander's quietness was a worry.

On the way out of the hotel Xander and I walked behind our fathers. "Hey what's up?" I asked brushing my arm against his. He said nothing but his silence spoke volumes. "Xander what happened?" I tried again.

"Drop it okay." Xander's words pushed past gritted teeth.

When the fight itself had started I knew what had happened. Madison was sitting on the other side of the ring attached to the the same guy I had caught her with. I looked at the flier closer. Tom Sheppard. Xander's current opponent. I looked to Xander to find him staring at Tom not with the intent of winning but to do serious damage. "Xander." I said taking his hand and making him look at me. "Ignore her. Ignore the feeling of wanting to kill him. It is her loss it does not have to be yours." A look of realisation hit Xander. I thought I had some how gotten through to him.

"You knew."

Crap. "Yes." I struggled to get out. "Be pissed at me later I will even let you go at me in the ring but don't let your hate drive this fight. You have the skill to beat him. Do It."
