Ivie
"So, about your face..." Olivia started before trailing off. I looked down at the kitten sitting at my feet.
"Yeah, what about it?" I asked.
"What happened to you?" She sounded downright terrified as she set her fork down.
"I told you, Liv, doorknob."
"I can't believe you're sticking with that!" 'Me either.' I thought to myself. "A doorknob wouldn't bust your lip, swell your cheek, and blacken your eye!"
"I hit it more than once. What can I say, it was an aggressive doorknob." Olivia and I both started laughing.
"Okay, okay. Seriously though, what happened? You already know that you can tell me anything."
I took a deep breath before exhaling loudly. "Alright fine." I told her the story of what happened, leaving out anything to do with my second life, simply saying that I was dropping off some money that I had owed Angel.
"I told Ant that I despised him and he stormed off. Angel kissed me and I ran away. I don't know what to do. I loved Anthony. I loved him, but there's no way I could ever be with him again." I paused as Olivia reached over the table and wiped a tear from my face. "I guess I've always kinda liked Angel. He was in the orphanage with me and since he was a year older, he always tried to look after me. I grew up with him, but I never expected him to like me. I don't know what my exact feelings are for him, but I know that there's something there. What do I do, Olivia?" I sobbed.
No one had ever seen this side of me. Ivie Daniels didn't have a weak side, I just couldn't hold it in anymore. The only person I could ever think to allow the viewing of me this way would be my twin.
"Listen to your heart, it will tell you what you need to do. God will help you, He'll guide your heart." She smiles. "I know He will."
I stopped myself from rolling my eyes just as Olivia got up, came around the table, and pulled me into her arms. "It will be okay, Ivie. Everything will be okay."
I pull away after a few moments. "What about you? What happened to you today?"
"My house was robbed while I was on a date." Tears formed in her eyes. "I had to replace everything but they took my cat, Tay."
I frowned. "Who takes a cat?"
"That's what I asked! I just... I just miss my Tay Bug so much!" She furiously started to sob.
It was my turn to comfort my sister. I pulled her into my arms and let her cry her little heart out at the loss of her baby. After about 5 minutes she pulled away, wiping her fingers under her eyes like you do after crying while wearing make-up. "I'm so sorry, Ivie. Look at me, I'm such a mess. I wanted to tell you, I'm having a birthday party for us in a few weeks. It was already scheduled and my friends were going to be there but it's your birthday, too. I figured you could invite your friends and we could tell everyone then." We both grabbed our plates and set them down in the sink.
