Ivie

"Here you are, girls. A coke and coke. Enjoy." The waiter checked Olivia out once again, causing me to roll my eyes. He took our order for our meal and headed to the kitchen, I waited until he was out of earshot to speak.

"Are you KIDDING me? Are you saying you're my sister, or something?"

"It seems that way doesn't it." I took a sip of my Coke. "But I don't think you're just my sister, Ivie. I think you're my twin." I almost did a spit take, instead I coughed my sip down.

"Why would you say that?"

"What's your natural hair color?" She asked calmly.

"Black."

"Mhm, and as you can see so is mine."

"Okay, hair color proves nothing."

"We have the same face. Every single detail is the same, other than the scar you have on your jaw. Ivie, we even have the exact same eyes. With our color being as rare and unique as it is, do you honestly think that's a coincidence?" She cocked an eyebrow at me. We even had the same perfectly arched eyebrows.

"We look similar. Big deal."

"You know good and well it's more than similar, the only difference between us physically is that you've dyed your hair and the different taste in clothes."

"Whatever." I replied, keeping up the rebel look, but in reality, I was scared shitless.

"Let me guess, you were adopted, right? I was too."

"I wasn't adopted, I stayed in an orphanage until the day I turned 18." I whispered.

"When is your birthday, Ivie?" She asked, fiddling with her bracelet.

"March 20.." I faded off.

"1991?" She asked. I could only nod.

"You're my sister?" I asked, tears coming to my eyes. I had never had a family of any sort before.

"No, Ivie, I'm your twin." She reached over the table and hugged me. I hugged back. I had a sister, I had a twin. We pulled away when we saw Oliver come out of the kitchen with a tray that carried two plates. We waited for him to set them down and walk away but I noticed he hovered a little longer putting down Olivia's food, as if he wanted to say something to her. He didn't, instead he turned and said he'd be by in a little to see if we needed anything.

Olivia was blushing as she turned her head down and whispered a short prayer. I waited until after she was done to say anything. "You have a crush on our waiter?"

She looked down, her face turning a brighter shade of red than my hair. "Maybe." she mumbled.

"Well, it seems as if he has some feelings of his own." She smiled. "I say go for it."

"I could never. I'm too shy. Besides, I've never even thought of a guy like this before." The blush appeared on her face again at admitting this.

"You mean to tell me, you're 22 years old and have never had sex? Living in New York City of all places!"

"I've taken the vow to save myself until marriage, haven't you?" Olivia asked.

I laughed. I continued to laugh. "No, I never made that vow, and there's never a chance of me being able to keep it again." I giggled once more. She looked at me for a moment like she was ashamed to be related to me in anyway. I raised my hands. "I'm sorry, but I never once claimed to be perfect, I've got issues that I have to live with. One of them being I probably never WILL get married. I'll live a lonely life with my kitten Meatball." I took a bite of my food.

"You are not going to live a lonely life. You are going to get married and you are going to have children, so I can be Auntie Livia." I inwardly shuddered, still not used to any of this.

"Okay, 'Auntie Livia'." She giggled.

We continued to eat and talk, eventually finishing and getting desert. When Oliver brought out the check he handed it to Olivia and stood there, patiently waiting. When she opened it up she blushed and looked up at him, he winked as she handed him the money. The blush darkened as I gave her a questioning look as a small slip of paper was put into her clutch. "His number!" She excitedly mouthed to me. I gave her a thumbs up.

I finally got home and grabbed Meatball, taking her upstairs. I put on random sweatpants and a black t-shirt and my comfy gray Uggs. I threw my hair into a bun. I turned on my t.v. and settling in to bed with Meatball. I was completely ignoring the show that was on. I drifted off to sleep absentmindedly petting my kitten and thinking about my twin sister.
