I have high hopes for what I want to achieve and having a boyfriend doesn't help me. At least not right now, Shawn thinks to himself.
He's currently on the job after Taylor bought him lunch. He enjoys Taylor's company but doesn't want to grow use to the thought of someone giving him so much, Shawn has to earn it but Taylor doesn't give him that opportunity.
Shawn looks around and actually sees Taylor walking around with a couple of people, they just got out a store a few feet away from Shawn's yogurt bar.
It gives him a pang of jealously, although, there's nothing he should be jealous of. It's just Taylor and like three guys.
He's waiting for his shift so he could spend time with Taylor although, he knows that he doesn't want that. Yet, Shawn can't take the thought away.
"Shawn. I asked you to clean up the spilling yogurt from the dispensers." His boss orders him and so Shawn does it.
He puts his rag over his shoulder and occasionally looks back to see Taylor only a few feet away, just sitting at the benches from Squeeze with his friends.
Why does he have to sit next to Shawn's job. Why not some other fast food place in the mall. "No. I don't have a date. Haha, sorry. But surely you could set me up with someone right?" Taylor says and it is audible to him.
Shawn would be glad to accompany Taylor but he can't just directly ask Taylor or tell him, "Hey I'll be your date to whatever you're doing!" It would be weird and clear that he's eavesdropping.
Shawn sees Taylor walking over to the shack and he quickly uses cleans the counter like me was never looking. "Hey I've got a place to be. Almost done with your shift?"
"Yeah. Um, like, thirty minutes. You can leave if you want... I guess." Shawn tells him unconfidently. He knows deep down that every second with Taylor is the greatest. "I'm planning to drop you where you want to go. Then I'll have to be on my way."
"Why can't you stay with m- I mean, okay." Shawn says and it causes Taylor to smirk, maybe Shawn is actually enjoying the company between them.
Taylor sneaks his hand up Shawn's arm and places it on his cheek. "Would you like to attend a formal ball with me tonight?" He asks.
Shawn is beyond excited on the inside but refuses to actually let it show, "You know I don't have formal clothes."
"You're silly baby, of course I do. And of course I'm letting you use them." Taylor walks off and sits at the seats meant for Swirls as he surfs on his phone.
Shawn continues weighing yogurts and cleaning the counters off condiments until he sees his shift is finally over.
He scurried his way to his future boyfriend, "Hi! Taylor. We can go now."
The two boys walk out of the commonly known mall together. Taylor temping to walk hand in hand but disregards it. Instead he thinks about the night he'll have with Shawn.
"So, Shawn. Taking things slowly right?" Taylor asks curiously. "Yes, please." Shawn replies although he knew he really likes Taylor already, it's just that valid spark that's presented between them, though, he tries to avoid it. Taylor is all in, ready whenever and he is finally sure of that.
"But one thing for tonight. Like a little catch for me taking you." Taylor says a little uneasy. "Taylor, what is it?"
Taylor makes a left turn and soon hits the freeway to his home. "Soo... I kind of need you to show up as my, uhm... Boyfriend." He tells the younger boy that he's falling for.
