A N T I C I P A T I O N

Taylor and Shawn are on their way to school. Only a few more months to go, for Shawn at least, but for Taylor it'll be his first day. His mom enrolled him after the dispute. Now he will be attending a school that is located behind the main campus, though he still gets breaks with Shawn, and if he gets electives, it'll be on Shawn's campus. They're hoping to at least have music together.

"I'm really nervous. What if there are people older than me. Or what if they don't care and turn out being assholes to the teacher. Like me, but trust me. I know not to be that disrespectful to adults. I'm still so sorry for being mean to you." Taylor takes Shawn's hand and kisses it. "Taylor. It's your first day. It's alright to be nervous. Just know you'll be okay, at the end of the day, we have each other."

Shawn walks Taylor to the campus office while reaching upon the topic on the day they met, the day of the incident. "So, why were you mean to me anyways? You aren't mean to every teenager your age are you?"

"I'm a really good conversationalist. Though, when I saw you, I saw you as innocent and small. You wouldn't fight back. But Shawn, don't hate me for that first impression on you. And I was mad. I think you've seen my angry side three times now." Shawn nods at Taylor's response. He feels bittersweet, sort of hurt with his words but understands it.

"Well. It's okay. Um. Yeah, I still like you and all so, don't worry about it." Shawn opens the office door and Taylor gladly walks in. He observes the room, it's just business. Desk and cubicles, lines for parents to talk to one of the administrators.

"Hi. Taylor Michael Caniff. New student as of today. I'm here to pick up my schedule." Taylor says as he acts upon nervousness while talking to the lady in the front desk. "Give me a minute." She does her typing for less than the amount of time spoken. "I don't see a name."

"Oh. He's for the secondary campus. The program to catch up on credits." Shawn backs up his boyfriend, taking his hand under the front office high counter-like table. "In that case. You're set to go. Here's your schedule, a map, and the bell times." The secretary announces and the two walk off together.

Shawn swings their hands proudly together, okay with the idea that he's gay with a boyfriend-- finally, after holding back all his life, he finally has one senior year. But it's not like nobody liked him in the past, he just was too busy focusing on school. Though, Taylor promises that Shawn can focus on school and Taylor will be okay if there's less attention, and he'll motivate his boyfriend to do the best possible this year.

"Shawn?" A voice calls out. "Oh. Matt, this is Taylor." Matthew, Shawn's closest friend as mentioned in the past, smirks at Shawn and walks off. "Um, that's one of my closest friends. He probably didn't want to bother with us. But I'll do a reintroduction during break or lunch." Shawn announces as they walk to Taylor's secondary campus.

"Okay. You're going to do fine. My first class is almost close to here. You have one long period, but it's two subjects, break, then two more periods, then lunch, which is technically your dismissal of you don't show up to your elective in my school. Got it? As for me, I have two periods then break, then two periods again, and we see each other lunch. Make sense?" Shawn looks Taylor dead in the eyes to show his seriousness. "Okay, I have total of four and you have a total of five. But our timing in class is different, babe, I've got it."

"So what's my elective say? You have my papers. Baby, I didn't even take one peek at it yet." Taylor laughs and cups his boyfriends cheek to kiss his forehead. "Oh, you have music with me!" Shawn shouts out and hugs Taylor quickly. "Yes. Well good, I'll see you during our breaks. Bye, sweetie." Taylor looks around before giving Shawn a quick peck.
