It was a blissful morning on the lake. The sun was shining in the trees and they slowly blew back-and-forth in the breeze. The calming sounds of waves rolled up on the shore, and the birds tweeted something sweet. Everybody was cleaning the house, vacuuming, dusting, and putting anything that stayed at the lake away. Jacob, my dad, and I all put the boat away in the garage and made sure all the tubes were safe and packed away where mice couldn't eat them.
My mom and my brothers got the animals ready while me and Jacob packed. Ally came over and talked to us while we packed, and sometimes she helped us find some things. Finally, we finished cleaning up and we went downstairs to check on everybody. Everybody was just getting done, and my brothers were hauling the suitcases to the front door. My mom was getting all the animals prepared to go and my dad was packing the rest of the food. Suddenly, Ally frowned.
"Aww, I got to go home now guys. My mom just texted me." Ally said sadly. My cheeks began to burn and my throat began to swell, knowing that I wouldn't see Ally for a while. "Bye Ally." I coughed up, my voice squeaking. Ally smiled, her eyes bloodshot. "See ya soon Erica." Ally said, even though that was practically lying. I wouldn't be back this summer, but maybe for the holidays this winter. Anyways, I hugged her back for a long while, then walked her out to her golf cart. She gave Jacob a hug, and then gave me another, then crawled into her golf cart and drove off back home.
"I'm gonna miss her." I cried. Jacob nodded in agreement, sniffling. Him and Ally bonded a lot when we hung out with her. I opened the door to the inside and saw Redmond in his kennel, whimpering as he thought we were going to leave him here. "It's okay Redmond." I giggled, sticking my hand through the metal and petting Redmond. He calmed down, and then my dad carried the crate to the car. I turned and looked at Jacob, who was texting someone on his phone.
"Ready?" My mom called out. We were all getting prepared to drive to Denver where we dropped Jacob off at the airport to fly home, then drive us the rest of the way. Everyone pretty much was ready, mainly we were all pulling out our blankets, pillows, headphones, and devices to prepare for the long drive home. My mom hit the garage pad, and the garage door came sliding down slowly. Once it shut, we moved out. My dad followed behind us in the truck, and then we began our journey back home.

We arrived at the Denver International Airport around 3, just in time to get Jacob ready to get on his plane. His plane left at 4:20, so we had plenty of time. My brothers got out of my moms car and moved over to my dads with their stuff, and they drove back home without me and my mom. Well, technically they just kept going/got a head start. It took us awhile to get inside though, about 20-30 minutes or so cause then my dad swapped the dogs over to his car too so the dogs weren't left in the heat. Once my dad drove off with my brothers and the animals, we went inside.
The sliding doors opened up to a confined area with elevators. We hit the up key and waited patiently for the elevator to come down. "It's really to bad you have to go." I whined sadly. "I know." He said, holding his suitcase handle in one hand, and holding my hand in the other. He rested his head on my shoulder, and I softly sniffled. I was going to miss the feeling of Jacob being right there. I savored those few minutes with Jacob while waiting for the elevator, and when the elevator came, we popped right back into reality.
The sound of luggage rolled across the airport floor, and the clinking and clanking of Jacob's suitcase echoed. We were waiting in line, every so often moving up. I scooted forward, trying to keep from crying, but there was a big lump in my throat and my eyes burned. My cheeks felt hot and red, and the world was all blurry and puffy from the salty tears that lie inside my eyelids. We finally made it to the front, and Jacob just sat there, twirling his thumbs in a circle. "Jacob." My mom said softly. She sounded so delicate, like a deer.
The lady behind the desk and my mom talked for a bit before she gave me and my mom a pass to go with him to his gate. Once we got that done, we headed off down the escalator and towards the security check. We got through clear, and we headed off for a quick lunch. We found a pizza place and ate there, but I hardly took more than 2 bites, I felt so sick to my stomach. I sighed. "I'm to depressed to eat." I said, holding my stomach. I didn't have a eating disorder or anything, but it was one of those days I couldn't get my mind off leaving Jacob; my mind was not on food. My mom said she would get me something on the way home, which I was okay with. I would most likely want to eat then.
We stood by Jacob's gate, the sadness in our eyes. He looked like he was about to start balling, and I probably did too. "Your on family boarding." My mom whispered. They began to board the first section of people, which I think was all the handicapped people. I hugged Jacob, and kissed him on the cheek, but he didn't want just the cheek, he wanted the lips too. He kissed me smack-dab on the lips, then hugged me until it was time for him to go. He hugged my mom quick and thanked her, then rushed off onto the plane.
I blinked the tears away and waved to him as he turned around on the alleyway. He waved back, and I saw a glistening tear fall from his bare cheek. "Bye Jacob!" I shouted, and he yelled 'bye Erica' back. "I love you!" I cried into the loud airport, and Jacob yelled it right back. "I LOVE YOU MORE!" He said, and before I could yell "I LOVE YOU MOST!" He turned the corner and boarded the plane.
Goodbye, Jacob.

December 31st
I watched as the band blared the music from the stage. I didn't know what song they were playing, but it was pretty awesome. I jumped up and down, filming with my phone like all the other people in here; waving them around and screaming like crazy fan girls. I turned to Jacob, a small smile spread across my happy face. "Good song, aye?" Jacob laughed. I nodded quickly in agreement, then continued to bounce up and down.
When Jacob left this summer, it was devastating, but just a few months later on his birthday, he got a plane ticket to New York with his family for New Years. They had accidentally bought another ticket, so the Sartorius's sent it to me as a present for the holidays, and my parents and brothers bought some themselves. We all flew up to New York and got a hotel 5 days ahead of time, and for those 5 days Jacob and I hung out. We went into cool buildings and saw cool places, but on New Years Eve we went to watch the ball drop. That's how we got to where we were now, and we were enjoying our time together.
We raced down the hotel hallways and entered our room we shared with Caroline, Grayson, and Ryan. Ryan slept on the ground, he didn't care really. We crept out to the balcony as we were 20 minutes away from the new year. We all sat around a small white plastic table, talking about how this year went. Once we were down to 3 minutes, we stood and watched as the crowd roared excitedly. The new year was only 3 minutes away, and we were all in for the thrills and chills the new year would bring to us.
For those 3 minutes, I reviewed every favored moment of my life, from as far back as I can remember. It was like my life was flying by, but truly it wasn't. I screamed, punching the air happily as the 60 second countdown began. The crowd hollered, jumping around and throwing confetti. I shrieked as the time neared, a blur of the past year behind me now. I howled into the night, the shivers running up and down my spine. I had come so far, and really, my life was only beginning.
"3...2...1!!!" The crowd yelled. "WOOO!" The crowed cheered, and we all hopped around like maniacs. So much was to come for the new year! I was so extremely happy, but I still had to think of a new resolution. I quickly got on SC and took a quick video of the folks cheering, and before the clock turned to 12:01, I got 12:00 on my screen and put "HAPPY NEW YEAR!" in big letters. Everyone was going insane, posting 'happy new years' sc's all over, and I guess I was one of them, because I just kept posting more and more.

I stepped out of school on a boring Monday, and I opened my phone when I felt a vibrate in my hand.
