Kanan's Pov
"So kid" I shift awkwardly is my seat. He calmed down a little but he still had a death grip on my shirt. "What's your name?" He let go of my shirt and looked up at me in disbelief. "You don't remember? Well I'm Ezra nice to meetcha" he sticks his hand out and I shake it "I'm Kanan and did you tell me your name before?" He laughs "yup a long time ago. But that's in the past. we're in the present"

Gotta admit. Kids got spunk. "Come on" I laugh "I'll introduce you to the rest of the crew" Ezra stands up and we walk into the bridge. "This is Sabine, Zeb, and Hera. Guys this is Ezra." Ezra gives a lopsided smile, waves and says . "Hiya" Hera walks up and puts her hand on his shoulder "Ezra do you know why Agent Kallus took you?" The room falls silent and a serious aura fills the room. Ezra crosses his arms and states "Yes I do actually"
He pauses before continuing. "I have been on the run from the empire for a while lately" Ezra rubs the back of his neck and chuckles nervously "Y-You won't turn me in. r-right" Zeb starts laughing and says "kid we're all on the run here" Ezra looks up shocked "Y-You are!" Everyone nods and he sighs, relieved. Sabine puts her hand up and we all look at her. "Um... Sabine you do realize you don't have to raise your hand. Right?" Hera says confused. "Sorry I just needed your attention" she said sheepishly "Ezra back on Kallus' ship you said something that I couldn't quite hear what was it?" My smile drops and I find myself looking at Ezra. I know what he said but, "He might not wanna share it quite yet" I say sadly.

Ezra's Pov

"No it's fine. When most people find out they turn me in" my voice drops to a whisper. Kanan places a hand on my shoulder and says, "No matter what we won't turn you in" I sigh. Well here goes nothing. "I was Kallus's slave"
they all gasp and I put my head down. They probably hate me now. I'm hesitant but I continue my story, " I was on the run about three years ago when his troops found me again. But I was saved... By Kanan" Kanan looks at me with realization "Your the boy from the tower" I laugh lightly "yeah that was me. But I was afraid to tell you and I ran. I'm sorry Kanan" Kanan pulls me into a hug and I tense for a moment but then I relax. "Not used to physical contact yet" I say while they all start hugging me. "Well this is awkward" they all laugh and disperse from me. "Are you hungry Ezra" Hera chimes in. "Yeah I kinda haven't eaten in a while."
Hera walk off to the kitchen along with Zeb and Sabine leaving me alone with Kanan. "Kanan I just wanted to properly thank you for saving me all those years back." I say anxiously "don't sweat it kid." Kanan laughs putting his arm around my shoulder. I feel safe for the first time in a long time. Ha! I think I'm gonna like it here.
