My heads pounding at the moment. I'm not sure about these people. They're nice... Why? don't they know I'm a slave? Whenever people find out they always turn me in or worse. I shudder at the thought. Kanan's lying in a chair asleep. He doesn't look evil. Just then he snaps his head up causing me to jump. "S-S-S-Sorry y-you were sleeping so peacefully..." My voice trails and I suddenly become very interested with the floor. "It's ok kid. You hungry?" He asks. I stare at him with disbelief. "I can eat?" I asked incredulously. "Yea... Why?"
"Oh" I laughter nervously rubbing the back of my neck. But I suddenly fall short of what I'm about to say an stare at my wrists. "N-no chains?" I whisper. "Yep it took me forever but I finally got them off!" Kanan says proudly. I look up at him quickly and say "you took them off?" Kanan suddenly becomes uncomfortable "was I not supposed to?" Not supposed to you saved my life! "Thank you" I say tears spilling down my cheeks. I run into his chest and hug tightly "thank you so much. Oh god thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you" Kanan just laughs softly. "Your safe now" he whispers. He crouched down to my level and placed his hand on my shoulder. I felt so safe in his hands. I almost didn't want to let go. "Ezra would you like to stay with me and join my family?" He asked my opinion? Whole lot of firsts. "y-y-yes" I say in a small voice. No one has ever asked my opinion before. Well they have but that wasn't the same. "May I ask you something?"
"Yea?" Kanan looks up confused "um why did you save me?" Oh! Hey look it's the floor! Wow so pretty "I took you I because you needed help. You were hurt and all chained up? You looked like you had been kidnapped!" Wait he doesn't know?! It's so obvious! "Y-You don't know" I state and look up at him. Then I do something stupid and start rambling "I kinda thought it was obvious. I mean the chains give it away. Well and the brand on me back. But yo-" "brand?! Your a slave" Kanan said the word with such disgust. I felt as if I'd been stabbed I the heart. I ran out of the ship I was on and ran as far as my legs could carry me. Hot tears stream down my cheeks as I fall into a small patch of grass and cried. I knew he would throw me out as soon as he knew. I should have know sooner.
