"Life used to be so simple, but with the snap of a finger; life was gone before we ever realized it."
-Mitzi.A child, no older than seven ran down the hall after the smell of smoke entered her room; it was close to her bed time when it slid under her door. She thought her dad was cooking again, last time he cooked; the kitchen nearly got set on fire. Thankfully, her mom was there to stop it before the fire could even grow.
She raced down the hall, fear was all her expression could hold; tears ran down her rosy cheeks as she ran down the stairs.
"Mama, daddy!" She yelled coughing, she screamed when she was lifted off her feet; her eyes widened seeing her dad there. Blood ran down the side of his face as he looked at her.
"Daddy, where's mommy? Why is there smoke?" She asked him.
Her father answered no questions, he ran over to the closet that was under the stairs then placed his daughter there.
A saddened expression ran over him as he looked at his confused child.
"Mitzi, do not come out; no matter what you hear, do you understand me?" He asked the seven year old.
Tears fell as she nodded. "Where is mama?" She asked him again.
Her dad looked around cautiously, his eyes slightly widened before slamming the door closed; startling the child who fell back onto the floor.
When the house went quiet, Mitzi covered her mouth and coughed before opening the door; her once brown hair that was placed in a bun had fallen down and her brown eyes were red from the smoke and crying. She looked around frowning.
"Daddy..?" She called out, she walked out of the closet then down the hall.
She stopped at entry to the family room, her eyes grew wide as she watched a tall man in a dark cloak stand before her wounded parents, her mother was pleading with the man to not hurt their daughter.
Mitzi covered her mouth watching the man raise his hand that connected with her moms head, and with much force; ripped her mothers head clean off.
Her dad was next, the man ripped her father's head off followed by her parents hearts; he stashed them in his pockets before looking around.
She felt paralyzed with fear, her legs wouldn't budge when the man spotted her then walked in her direction; her eyes grew wide when her older brother jumped out in front of her. He held a wooden sword, aimed directly at the man that killed their parents. The man stood there, he rose his hand; smacking her brother across the face and onto the floor, leaving him unconscious.
Mitzi whimpered as the man grabbed her by the front of her blue and white night gown; her kitten slippers fell off her feet as she kicked trying to escape the others hold. She screamed and cried for him to leave them alone, her screams echoed through out the house when his fangs connected to her wrist; tearing the skin then snapped her neck."Origin Of Darkness."
