Tonight was probably the most awkwardest dinner that we have ever had.
I sat at one end of the table, Elias sat next to Cassie; Skeeter sat in front of the two, Roxy was on the other end and there was not much talking.
I took a sip of my water with a frown, Elias was cutting his steak then glanced to Cassie who was whispering something to him which earned a smile out of him.
I rolled my eyes then placed two green beans in my mouth, I clenched my jaw as I made a face.
"You still don't like green beans?" Roxy asked me with a grin.
I looked at her with a frown, all eyes were on us now since there was a conversation happening.
"No, they'll always taste gross to me." I told her.

Elias arched an brow looking to me. "Then why did you buy them?" He asked.
I frowned. "Because, you like them? I wasn't going to not buy them just cause I don't." I explained.
Cassie looked to me with a soft smile. "That's really grown up of you, most teenagers would just get junk food." She told me.
I returned a smile of my own. "Just being considerate." I told her.
Skeeter glanced to me and I frowned softly before looking down at my plate.
Elias and Cassie exchanged looks.
"So Mitzi, I hear you and Skeeter have the same classes; do you two talk in class?" Cassie asked me.
I bit down on my gum, I glanced to Skeeter who rolled his eyes before grinning at his sister.

"We talk all of the time in class, when the teacher wants us in partners; we go for each other. Mitzi is very smart." He told them.
I held a soft glare looking at him, what was he trying to do?
I looked to Elias who was waiting for me to speak, if I agreed with Skeeter my brother would think I was lying to him..
Sighing softly, I smiled. "Skeet here is also pretty smart when he tries to be, a lot of girls get jealous when he asks to be my partner or asks the teacher for us to be." I said.
Elias frowned as I looked away with a frown.
Cassie smiled softly. "That's adorable," she looked to Skeeter.
"My brother talks about you quite a lot." She said as I chocked on my water, Roxy's eyes grew wide looking at me.
I looked to Skeeter who had resumed eating, as if her sentence didn't bother him.
I frowned deeply, then looked to Cassie.
"Does he?" I questioned.
Cassie nodded with a smile.
I looked to Skeeter with a frown. "What do you say to your say about me, Skeet?" I asked with bitterness rising in my tone.
Skeeter chuckled looking to me. "Anything positive Mitz." He answered.
I glared before removing myself from the table then walked over to Skeeter, I looked to the other three.
"I'm going to sta-, I mean steal Skeet for a moment." I said before dragging the other out of the house.

"What the hell are you playing at in there?" I hissed at him under the moon with a glare.
Skeeter rolled his eyes. "My sister is into your brother, he is into my sister; we are their siblings who are supposed to at least try to get along for their sake." He murmured.
I rolled my eyes in annoyance. "Well, I for one; do not like lying to either of them about this friendship were putting on for them. My brother already knows I don't like you." I told him
Skeeter smirked. "The same with my sister." He said.
I rose a brow with a glare. "What do you mean? She knows you don't like me?" I asked.
He nodded with a grin.
I pinched the bridge of my nose. "Then why are we even acting like we are friends?" I hissed in question.
Skeeter gave me a devious smirk now, he walked closer to me until his lips were to my ear.
"Because, its fun." He said before walking back inside.
I stood there, I literally wanted to stake this guy.. this asshole!

I sat back down at the table as Roxy mouthed 'are you okay?' towards me, I could only shrug at the question.
Cassie sprung up after hearing a small ding in the kitchen.
"The cake is ready!" She beamed.
Elias smiled. "I'll help you with the icing." He told her.
I watched as Elias and Cassie escaped into the kitchen, leaving the three of us alone.
Now, it was really awkward.
I frowned as Roxy looked at me. "Want a packet?" She questioned.
I glanced to Skeeter who was poking at his meat, with a sigh I nodded.
"Yeah, if you don't mind Rox; can you grab one for that creature over there?" I asked her.
Roxy rose a brow, Skeeter was looking my way as I sighed.
She forced a smile and nod before leaving.
"Now, what are you playing at?" Skeeter asked me with a frown.
I looked to him. "I don't like drinking blood in front of other blood drinkers.." I murmured.
Skeeter chuckled softly. "That's considerate of you." He told me.
I rolled my eyes then smiled when Roxy returned with two glasses of a dark red liquid in each.
She handed Skeeter his, then walked over to me with mine.
I smiled softly before taking a long drink of the thick liquid.
I glanced to Skeeter who was looking at his.
"It's not poisoned." I told him.
Skeeter glanced to me before smelling it, then look a drink.

"This cake is amazing." Roxy exclaimed, Cassie had made a strawberry cake; and it was very delicious. I devoured the strawberry that rested on top of my cake then ate the rest, swallowing the last piece; I took a drink of my drink to only notice Cassie looking my way.
She noticed my attention before smiling softly. "I always ask Skeeter this, but what does blood actually taste like?" She asked me.
Elias, Roxy and Skeeter looked to us; the three of them had slight wide eyes as I rose a brow at her question.
Swallowing the liquid, I sat my glass down then rubbed the side of my neck.
"Well.. I guess, it tastes sweet? Yet leaves a slight bitter taste.. I mean, its not the best.. but it keeps us alive and healthy.." I murmured.
Cassie glanced to Skeeter then to me. "Can I try it?" She asked me.
I felt my eyes widen, I glanced to Skeeter who was already glaring daggers at me.
"Er.. I don't recommend it, Cassie blood tastes disgusting to humans.. I mean, Elias threw up taking a sip one time.." I told her.
I wasn't lying, Elias kept pestering me about seeing how it tasted; and when he tried, he was at the toilet in seconds.
Cassie crossed her arms, Skeeters glare died down and he resumed eating his cake.
I sighed.

Cassie stood at the front door with Elias, the two flirting the night away before they kissed and she said her goodbyes.
Skeeter followed after her, not even looking my way; I was relieved too.
Elias closed the door then turned to me.
"Quite the act the two of you put on earlier." He told me.
I rolled my eyes. "It was an act, I didn't want to lie; but he did it because apparently Cassie knows he doesn't like me and you know I don't like him. We did it so you both would believe it and things wouldn't remain awkward.." I murmured.
Elias sighed.
"I'm sorry we argued earlier.. I don't like being that Elias." He told me.
I looked at him frowning. "I'm sorry for turning into a seven year old.." I said and before I knew it, his arms were wrapping around me for a hug.
"I wasn't thinking when I said that.. it was heartless of me." He said.
I smiled softly. "We're both children.. I need to learn to respect you more and not turn into a kid when you invite people over that I don't like.." I murmured.
Elias grinned. "And I need to remember you're not a kid and need to consider your feelings." He told me with a laugh.
I grinned. "Exactly." I said.

I'm updating kind of late tonight, its been a busy day and I haven't had access to my lap top all day. Chapter six will be up soon, the others will be uploaded some time tomorrow; not as late as these two are though.
Until then.
Thanks!
