I don't know why it took me so long to update this. But this chapter is short. My chapters are always short. I'm sorry.

Niall carried his bag up the stairs and was heading to where Liam said his old bedroom was. He got to the door before he heard a cough. He turned and saw Liam's mother standing in the doorway of a room on the other side of the house basically. There area for the stairs was in the middle and the doorways to the rooms went around them in a U shape.

"This will be your room," She told Niall. He furrowed his eyebrows.

"But Liam said we're staying in his old room." Niall said.

"I know what he said. He's staying in his room. You're staying in here." She moved aside and gestured to the room.

Niall wanted to say something but as badly as he wanted to he held his tongue. He wasn't raised to be rude, especially to someone who he was a guest to. So without a word he walked over to the room she was in front of and headed inside. He didn't even wait to see if she had more to say as he shut the door right after.

Niall wasn't sure if he was just genuinely upset or if his hormones were getting to him but he ended up walking over to the window, sitting down on the seat there and breaking in to tears.

After talking to his stepdad Liam walked outside to the car to get his bag. He noticed Niall's bag wasn't in there and he assumed the blonde had taken it upstairs to his room already. Liam walked back inside and headed up stairs to his old bedroom. But when he walked inside he didn't notice Niall or his bag anywhere. "Niall?" He called, thinking maybe he was in the adjacent bathroom. He didn't get a reply. Liam set his bag on the bed and walked out of his room. He spotted his brother coming out of his old bed room. "Have you seen Niall?" He asked.

Fredrick looked up and shook his head. "Uh, no, haven't seen him." He answered before heading downstairs. Liam knew that even if he did see Niall he probably would have given him the same answer. Liam walked over to the main bathroom, wondering if his boyfriend was in there. But when he saw that the bathroom door was open he realized Niall wasn't in there either. He was about to pull out his phone to call Niall when muffled crying reached his ears.

He walked up to the guest bedroom and knocked once before opening the door. "Niall, baby." He saw Niall sitting on the window seat and after shutting the door he made his way to him. Liam wrapped his arms around the smaller boy and lifted him up, taking his spot on the seat and placing him in his lap.

Niall turned in Liam's arms and buried his face in to his boyfriend's chest, crying his eyes out still. Liam let Niall cry until he was just stifling now. He waited until he knew the blonde could speak okay before asking what was wrong.

"Please tell me why you were crying, love?" The brunette asked.

Niall reached up and wiped his eyes before speaking. "Y-Your mom h-hates me." He mumbled.

Liam frowned, cupping Niall's face in his hand. "Love, I know she's difficult but I don't think she hates you."

The smaller boy nodded. "She told me I-I had to stay in h-here. She isn't going t-to let me sleep w-with you."

Liam shook his head. "You know I'm not going to let that happen. I know you can't sleep without me. And I'm not going to let you sleep alone." He stated. "Please, baby, don't cry anymore."

Niall sniffled once more. "I don't want her to be angry with you." He spoke, voice small.

"Don't worry about it, love."

Liam and Niall spent the rest of their first day in his room, despite protest from Liam's mother. He just ignored her basically. The next day more of the family was going to show up. Liam was happy to hear his grandmother and his cousin were coming today. Niall had a glimmer of hope that he would get to meet family that finally liked him.

They decided to sit out on the porch to wait for them. They were on a porch swing, Liam with his arm around Niall as the blonde leaned against him. "I prefer this then being inside." The smaller boy said.

Liam chuckled. "I do too," He agreed. He saw a car coming down the driveway and when he saw it park he knew it was the two people he was waiting for. He smiled and stood up, taking Niall's hand and leading him down off the porch. He watched his cousin walk over to the passenger side to help his grandmother.

Niall smiled, watching the woman swat the young lad's hand away. She didn't even look as old as Niall was thinking she'd be. Then again, Liam's mother was only twenty years older than him. He found out that Liam was the oldest.

Liam smiled when his family walked up to him. "Grandma, Louis, it's so good to see you both." He greeted, moving to give his grandmother a hug and then Louis afterwards.

"So good to see you too, my boy." His grandmother said, smiling brightly at her taller grandson.

"Ey, Liam, glad you could make it because I wasn't going to stay if you didn't." Louis said when Liam pulled away. Liam just laughed at that.

"I want you guys to meet someone really special to me." Liam stepped back and grabbed Niall's hand, gently tugging him to stand a bit in front of him. "This is Niall, my boyfriend. Niall, this is my grandmother, and my cousin Louis."

Niall blushed but smiled. "Hi," He said. He held out his hand to Liam's grandmother but she just smiled and pulled him in to a hug. Liam smiled at that.

"No handshakes for the boy who has made my Liam so happy!" She said. "You are family, Niall." She pulled away and took the blonde's hands. "And by family I mean with the three of us because those people in there just don't get it."

Niall looked over at Liam. "I like her," He stated with a smile. When she let him go Louis stepped up and hugged Niall.

"Nice to meet you, Niall. So glad Liam found someone." Louis said with a smile.

"So how about the four of us go out to lunch?" Liam suggested. "It's my treat."

"Yeah, now we're talking, Payno." The shorter brunette grinned.

Liam's grandmother smiled. "Oh you don't have to do that Liam." She said.

"He's not going to take no for an answer though," Niall added, smiling. She looked up at the blonde.

"That is very true. Well then, what are we waiting for?"

Liam smiled. "Lou, do you remember that café we'd always hang out at afterschool?" Liam asked. Louis grinned again and nodded.

"You bet I do," He answered, heading for the driver's side and getting in. Liam opened the front door for his grandmother. She thanked him and go in. Then he opened the door for Niall.

"Thank you," Niall said, kissing Liam's cheek. Liam smiled and shut the door, getting in on the other side. After he was buckled in he grabbed Niall's hand, giving it a squeeze. Louis turned on the car and turned it around, heading down the driveway now.

"Are you starting to like our stay now?" Liam asked his boyfriend.

Niall nodded. "If it stays like this, I think I can really enjoy myself."
