christmas time

Christmas came faster than Niall was anticipating. But he couldn't be any happier. It was his first Christmas with Liam and the first Christmas with his family in a few years. He woke up to the smell of bacon and French toast. That had that every Christmas morning, courtesy of Niall's dad.

He turned on his side to see Liam still asleep. Niall giggled before reaching up to place a kiss to his Adam's apple. He felt the taller boy stir and slowly open his eyes. "Merry Christmas." The blonde boy said.

Liam flashed him and sleepy smile. "Merry Christmas, love." He leaned in to kiss Niall's forehead.

"My da's making breakfast, we should get up."

Liam nodded and sat up, helping Niall sit up as well. He got out first, pulling the blonde along and they walked in to the bathroom together. Once they were done they headed down to the kitchen, seeing Maura and Bobby there.

"Merry Christmas, you two." Maura said, coming over and kissing her son on the forehead.

"Merry Christmas, mum." He returned, smiling up at her. "Merry Christmas, da. Breakfast smells amazing."

Bobby turned around to hug his son. "Good. I know it's been a while since you've had this." He said with a smile.

Liam said merry Christmas to the parents as well before taking Niall's hand and leading him out in to the living room. "I'm going to go get your Christmas gift. I want you to open it first." He said. Niall just nodded and sat down on the sofa to wait for Liam. The brunette walked back upstairs and to Niall's room, going over to his bag and pulling out Niall's gift. He then made his way back down the stairs, seeing Niall picking at sofa. He smiled and sat down next to the blonde. "Here." He handed him the neatly wrapped gift box.

Niall stared at it for a moment before h tore open the wrapping and then opened the box. He gasped when he saw a silver pendant and a silver bracelet set on black velvet. "Liam," He whispered, picking up the pendent to see that it had a picture of his last ultrasound, showing both babies. Liam smiled and Niall picked up the bracelet next, looking at Liam with a slightly confused face.

"It's a soundwave." He stated.

"Of what?" Niall asked. Liam grabbed his phone and unlocked it, going to a file and pressing play. Niall leaned in closer and he could heart the soft heartbeats of the babies. "I- Liam. Their heartbeats?" He looked up at the brunette.

Liam nodded. "One side has one heartbeat and the other side has the other twin's heartbeat."

Niall felt his eyes watering. "Liam I love them both so much," He said, sniffling. "These gifts are beautiful."

"I'm glad you love them. I wanted to get you something that was also special to me. I wanted you to know how excited I am to be having a family with you."

Niall wiped his eyes and looked leaned over to kiss Liam's cheek. "Thank you."

Liam wrapped his arm around Niall and pulled him closer. "Anything for you my love."

They sat together for a while before Niall realized Louis and Harry hadn't come down yet. "Louis and Harry haven't come down yet. Should we go wake them up?" He asked.

"Actually, I'm surprised they're sharing a room together again. Last time Harry tried to sleep in there he got kicked out."

"Well he might still be in the guest room." Niall thought. "I don't like that they're still angry with one another. I know they like each other. Why are they doing this?"
