The next few days had been the same—tests, assignments, meeting up with Bea, group-discussions about the animal shelter and most of all, the nights with Cole, Siena, Ian and Matt—but I had seemed to find some fun in being bummed out with a group of popular and talkative people during the day and cool yet weird and unsocial people at night.

When I got home from the animal shelter group on a Friday, I saw that my mom had texted me.

Mom : Be home soon. Boss said I cld wrk xtra hrs

A : Okay

Calling Bea, I walked up to my bedroom and started to go through some hard drives in my drawer. "Hey," I said.

"Hi." Bea breathed. "You okay?"

"Yeah." I nodded. "Wanna spend the night?"

After a moment, she replied. "Okay, yeah, sure. I'll come over in a bit."

"Kay." I hung up and then turned around, starting to see the sky turn dark blue. I wanted Bea to meet my friends, who had told me they had known her but I highly doubted Bea knew people like them.

"Mom?" I called, walking down the stairs and seeing her standing in the kitchen, making something to eat.

"Hey." She turned around and smiled. "How are you?"

"I'm okay." I shrugged. "How about you? How was your day?"

"I'm fine. And my day was okay, thank you."

"Bea's coming over soon."

"Okay." She nodded. "She can sleep on the couch or something if she wants."

"Mom, she can sleep in bed with me—"

"Whatever," Mom shooed me away. "Just no experimenting, may I ask?"

I shook my head and laughed. "Me and Bea?"

She shrugged. "You never know, sweetie."

"Whatever, Ma." I laughed and walked out of the kitchen and to the front door that was being knocked. Opening the door, I saw Bea standing there with a smile. Bea had dark black hair that was in a boycut formed to fit her face, dark eyes and was light-skinned. Bea Meandrette was the girl who was extremely pretty inside and out. You could hardly find that anywhere.

"Hey." She smiled and walked in. "I brought food. Well, and movies."

I grinned. "Good. I was hungry."

Bea went upstairs and put her bag onto my bed and came down in some pajamas just like me. She wore a black tanktop and pajama pants with brains on them.

When we got to watching the movie and settled in my bed, I heard people calling my name from my porch. Bea looked at me. "Did you hear that? Your name?"

I nodded and got up, walking to my porch and looking over, seeing the group of friends sitting on my lawn. "Hey." Matt looked up and smiled.

"Hi." I replied and called for Bea. She walked out and looked down, to see Ian smirk and look up at her.

"Well, hello Ms. Meandrette." said Ian. "Why am I seeing you, this fine evening?"

I looked over to see Bea, who rolled her dark eyes. "Why are these people on your lawn, Ana?"

"They're my friends." I told her.

"Come on down here." Siena told me. "We want to take you guys somewhere." She smirked.

I raised an eyebrow. "You guys are freaking me out a little."

"That's our job!" They all laughed.
