My mom's eyes stared at me and my drenched body, then her eyebrows raised as if to push me. "Hello, young lady?"

I looked down and pushed up my glasses I put on just a second ago. "Well, me and Bea went to a cliff and jumped off."

Okay, maybe not the best way to say that.

"You what?!" Mom screeched and I flinched.

"I went cliff-diving with Bea."

"Then where is she?"

"She--" I bit my lip, "She's just a bit behind, Mom."

My mom's eyebrows flew up and her head tilted to the side. "You expect me to believe that, Ana? Just tell me the truth. Were you sleeping with a boy?"

"No!" I whined as I hid my face. "I just went cliff-diving."

Mom sighed. "Okay. But if I catch you out this late again, I'll ground you and take away your phone."

I rolled my eyes. "Mom," I started.

"Listen to me," Mom said, "you're a seventeen year old girl. You're my daughter; in other words, you're the thing I pushed out of my vagina for 36 hours. I didn't raise you to be some stupid girl who hangs with the wrong people who have no potential as you do whatsoever."

I stared at her as I thought about what she had just said. Were my friends the wrong people?

Walking upstairs to my bedroom, I shook my head. That's so stupid of me to think, that Siena, Cole, Ian and Matt were bad people. Sure, they smoked and probably did illegal things, but were they such bad people, to myself, my future, my mom, and most importantly, to themselves?

A silhouette stood at my patio and I smiled. "Whoever it is, stop messing around." I laughed, "You're not going to scare me."

As the silhoutte moved closer, I heard quiet murmurs, then the body toppled over mine and I let out a groan. "Bea?" I worriedly breathed.

"I wanna go to sleep." Her body shivered constantly, and her eyes were full of fear. I nodded as I stood up and grabbed her hand, taking her body to my bed and laying her in, tucking my blankets over her. I closed my patio doors and then looked back at Bea, whose eyes were wide-open and her body shook under the covers.

"What's wrong--"

"Don't." She whispered, maybe cried, turning over in my bed as I crawled in.

Who did this to Bea? I wrapped my arms around her and her body still shook cowardly. I looked at my patio and the morning sun was brightening as my best friend's ragged breathing slowed and fell asleep, while I stared at my ceiling now and wondered what Ian possibly did to her.
