My sword hits exactly where I mean it to.
"He." I say quietly. "He. He. He. He. He."
The King is now laying face down on the ground in a pool of his own blood, dead.
I look over to Caspar.
"You killed him." He says quietly. His face has a shocked look on it.
"You actually killed him." He says louder.
"I am so so-" I start.
"Thank you."
"What?"
"Thank you. He needed to go, we agreed on that earlier. Now he's finally gone."
Despite being 18, he looked like a 5 year old with the smile on his face.
"But no-"
"Now what?" He yells with joy.
"Now you're King."
His smile fades as the realisation hits him.
I sit down next to the new King and hug him.
"You don't have to go back. You can come with me. I don't have much money but, you know me, master thief..."
The prince looks up smiling.
"I'm King. I make the rules. I can clear your sentence and you can live there too!" He is excited. "Let's go! Now!"
I look down. I know the rules, the King makes the rules but there is one problem with his plan.

"You can't kill the King and get a clear sentence." Safi says.
My eyes open wide and I don't know what to do.
Safi can't be cleared.
At this moment I want to jump in a hole and disappear.
"No no nO NO NO." I say, starting quietly, gaining volume with each word.
"Come on, prince, let's go." Safi says, leading me towards who-knows where.
"Please, can you call me Caspar? And anyway, I'm King now." I say laughing.
We aren't going fast like before, we're just walking.
"So," I say, "this may be a typical, stupid question, but, are we friends now?"
Safi smiles. "Definitely."
He holds out his hand, and I meet it for a handshake. His grip is firm, but soft.
"Where are we going?" I ask.
The answers I get are not expected, or very appealing to me, but I guess I have lived in a castle all my life.
"You choose. The options you have are the sewers, the forest or another continent, if you want to keep me alive." Safi laughs. I reply with a shocked/concerned look.
"Yeah, I know it's bad, but again, life of a thief. Take your pick."
"I suppose contintial change is the most glamorous option, but what about the kingdom?"
"Eh, tell people your fathers taken a holiday to a far away country and you want to go to meet him there, then eventually they'll find the body and we'll be long gone." Safi says almost instantly.
"Well that was a quick and evil plan." I say concerned, but laughing.
"Criminal." Safi says reminding me.
"But where do we go?" I ask.
"As far away from here as possible."
