Jackson's POV

We got there half an hour after the party had started, & it was already in full swing by the time we got there. There were so many cars parked outside, that we had to park a little ways down the road. It was a good thing that Dominic's friend didn't have neighbors that were close. He'd have so many complaints with how much noise was coming from his house.

When we walked up to the huge house, I saw Kolt & his friends. Madison gripped onto my arm as we got closer to a crowd of people. I wrapped my arm around her waist & I felt her body relax a little.

"Hey bro! Glad to see you two could make it!" Kolt said, slapping me on my shoulder.

"It took a little convincing." I said, looking at Madison.

She blushed. "Shut up." I laughed.

"These are my friends. Ryker, Grayson, & Jayden." he said, nodding his head in their direction. "Guys, you know my brother Jackson, & this is his girlfriend Madison."

She shyly smiled. "Hey."

They all said their hello's & turned back to each other.

Kolt shrugged. "They're real friendly." he laughed.

Then a guy with long blonde hair walked up & put his arm around Kolt. "You're forgetting to introduce me."

I chuckled, forgetting how funny Gage could be. "You're not that important, Gage."

"Aw, man. Your words hurt." he said, clutching his chest.

"You two are idiots." Kolt laughed.

Gage looked at Madison. "& Who is this pretty thing?"

"This is my girlfriend, Madison." I answered.

"How are you, darling?" he asked her.

"I'm okay." she said. I could hear how uncomfortable she felt. & I think Gage could see that. I would have told him to back off already if I didn't know that he was a good guy.

"That's great." Gage looked at me & Kolt. "I'll see you guys later. I saw a cute brunette, & I need to get her number."

He walked away then. We talked to Kolt for a few minutes longer before deciding to go into the house. He followed us in the house, but Madison & I separated from him, & went to find some drinks. We finally found a cooler with some unopened soda cans in it. We both grabbed a can & walked around to find a space that wasn't completely crowded.

"Is your brother even here?" Madison asked.

"He should be. He's the one throwing the party."

"Oh, right. He must be pretty popular to throw a party this big."

"Yeah, he's pretty popular at the college." I said. Then I spotted him & waved. "There he is."

Dominic waved back & walked up to us. "What's up, bro?! I never see you anymore."

"Stop being so busy then." I joked.

He laughed. "If you ever go to college & run our fathers construction business at the same time, you'll learn how time consuming it can be." He looked over at Madison. "How are you doing?"

"I'm okay." she said.

"That's good. Still having problems with the creep?" he asked.

I nodded, knowing that Madison wouldn't want to talk about it.

"Well, if you ever need anything, just let me know. I always have time for family."

"Thanks, Dominic." she said.

"It's good to see that you two are finally together." Dominic smiled at me.

Madison blushed, so I spoke up. "Yeah, when are you going to find a girl?"

"I may have my eye on someone." he smiled. "Well, I'll let you two get back to the party. Have fun!" He slapped me on the shoulder before walking away.

"It's hard to think that he's your brother. He's so much more different than you & Kolten." she laughed.

I chuckled. "I know. He's the freak of the family."

"That's not nice." she giggled.

We finished up our sodas & I asked Madison if she wanted to dance with me.

"W-what?" she stuttered.

"You. Me. Dancing. Right here. Right now."

She laughed at that. "With all these people around?"

"No one is paying attention to us. They're all drunk or making out." I chuckled. "Dance with me."

She finally gave in. "You owe me big time."

"Anything, baby." I laughed.

I pulled her close & wrapped both of my arms around her waist. She put her arms around my neck. The feel of her body against mine & her breath against my neck was intoxicating. I felt like I could get lost in this moment.

We danced to a few songs, until she started to feel tired. We walked outside & found one chair that wasn't being used. I sat Madison on my lap. It was almost midnight, & there were still a ton of people showing up.

"I can't believe there's so many people here." she said.

"I know. I guess word gets around quick."

"That's true. I used to go to parties years ago, but they were never this big."

"You just never went to the right ones, then." I chuckled.

She laughed. "I guess you're right."

I wrapped my arms around her waist, & laid my head against her back. Then I felt Madison's body stiffen in my arms. I looked up at her, wondering what was wrong.

"Jackson.." she whispered.

"What's wrong, baby girl?"

She didn't say anything. She just kept looking straight forward. I looked to where she was looking. I didn't notice anything that would bother her.

"Madison, what is it?"

She mumbled something that sounded like 'green eyes.' She wasn't making sense to me.
I looked again at where she was looking. & I finally saw what had her freaked out.

Standing a little ways away from us was an older guy with black hair & green eyes. When he saw me looking, he smirked & gave us a small wave. What the hell? I looked away from him & gently grabbed Madison's chin to make her look at me. I looked into her eyes. All I saw was fear. I felt sick.

"Madison? Is that him?"

She nodded, & I quickly looked back to where he had been standing. But, he wasn't there anymore.
