I woke up in my bed, the sun shining brightly through the window. I could tell it was going to be a great day. I felt so comfortable & warm wrapped up in my blankets. I smiled.

Then last night's events came to mind, & my smile fell. I sat up quickly in bed. I had to get out of this room. I looked over at my window. What if I was being watched right now?  I pushed my blanket off, & I jumped out of bed & ran to the door. I quickly opened it & ran into the hall. Before I could take more than a few steps, I ran into someone. I jumped back, starting to freak out when I felt hands grabbing my shoulders.

"Madison! Are you okay?"

It's just Jackson. I let out a sigh of relief & wrapped my arms around his neck.

"Sorry. I didn't see you there."

"It's okay, baby. Why were you running?" he said, putting his arms around my waist.

"I needed to get out of that room."

His hold on me tightened, & we stood there in each others arms for a couple minutes. I could feel his jeans against my bare legs, & that's when I realized I was only in a t-shirt. I pulled back a little.

"Did you change me last night?"

"Yes. I didn't want your dress to get messed up, or have you be uncomfortable while you slept. I'm sorry." he said, looking away.

"It's okay, Jackson. I'm so sorry I ruined our date. I was really looking forward to it, then I had to go &-"

He put his fingers on my lips. "You didn't ruin anything. Your safety is more important. I promise."

I felt sick thinking of last night's text. "I don't understand how someone saw into my room. & I'm not going to bother trying to pass this one off as a joke this time."

"We'll find out who's doing this. Kolt already tried to trace the text from last night, but still nothing came up." he held my hand. "I was so scared when you called me. & I think Kolt almost had a heart attack." he chuckled. "You fell asleep in my arms last night. I think I held onto you all night. & Now I don't want to let you out of my sight."

"I'm really sorry that I scared you. I didn't mean to. I was freaking out, & I needed you. & I definitely didn't mean to scare Kolten." I laughed. "Oh, & by the way, it's really okay that you changed me. I wouldn't have wanted to sleep in that dress." I smiled up at him. "& If you don't want to let me out of your sight, then don't."

He smiled back at me. He cupped my cheek with his hand & put his other arm around my waist again. "I'm not going to let anything stop me from kissing you this time."

He leaned towards me & I met him halfway. When our lips met, it felt like an explosion. I felt a jolt of electricity run through my body. I had never felt anything like this before. His lips felt soft against mine. He ran his hand through my hair, grabbed a handful of it, & pressed his lips more firmly against mine. His tongue ran along my bottom lip, begging for entrance. I obliged, & it was even better than just kissing him.

We continued for a couple more minutes, then we both pulled slightly back. I felt breathless. He put his forehead against mine, & I could tell he was trying to catch his breath also.

"That was amazing."

I blushed at that. "It really was."

"I'm really glad there finally wasn't anything to distract us." he laughed.

"I agree."

"There could have been an earthquake happening, & I wouldn't have let it stop me from kissing you for the first time."

I giggled. "I think our safety would be number one in that situation."

"Nope. You're always number one to me."

I think I melted inside when he said that. He kissed me one more time, then we decided to get ready for the day.

Later that night, we were sitting on my couch, eating ice cream. I always kept some in my freezer, & they were always different flavors. Though, my favorite would always be plain old vanilla. Jackson always made fun of me for it. I loved ice cream, though. I couldn't help it.

"Is it okay if I stay here tonight?" he asked me.

I looked at him. "You know you don't have to ask."

"I know. I just wanted to make sure, though."

"Why?"

He shrugged. "Because I'm a gentleman."

"Okay, Jackson. Whatever you say." I said, rolling my eyes.

He chuckled. "If I'm not a gentleman, then I get to throw ice cream at you."

"You wouldn't."

He held up a spoonful of ice cream. "I will if you don't agree with me."

"Fine! You're a gentleman!"

"That's what I thought." he said, laughing.

"You're crazy."

"Crazy for you, baby girl."

I rolled my eyes at his obvious attempt to flirt, but I couldn't help but smile at what he said. & By the grin on his face, he knew how I felt.

"So, can we try this whole date thing again? I still feel bad for ruining our last one before it even started."

"Madison, I told you that you didn't ruin it. I promise you didn't. But, yes, we can try again." he smiled.

"Thanks." I smiled back at him. "Maybe we can have try to have a quiet night in, instead of going out."

"We can do whatever you want to do."

"But, is that okay with you?"

"Of course it is."

We finished up our ice cream. None of it, thankfully, ended up on me. We cuddled up together on my couch & put in a movie.
Being wrapped up in Jackson's arms made me think of how I had always felt safe in his arms. I didn't ever want to lose him.
