Dave got out of the car quickly and went to John's side, he opened the door and smiled at his lover "Ready?" John nodded and held Dave's hand while walking into the shelter..Dave wasn't particularly a fan of dogs if he was honest...he liked cats. Always was a big cat person, but John wanted a dog, so that's what they'll get

"Okay Johnny boy. We can get at most
two. "Dave spoke softly, John gasped and looked around excitedly, smiling. He looked at all of them and spent hours just deciding. Dave was a bit nervous to say the least, realizing the amount of work it was going to be. Realizing that they should probably work towards getting a house for the two...with a big back yard.

"Okay Johnathan. We have to be smart about this..I think we should get one for now, it's going to be expensive and I still need to get a better paying job."he stopped his lovers excitement and John sighed, "Only one? Well I...I think, this one?" He looked at the little one who was very far back in the kennel, scared.

"Perfect John...I think she might want a happy home.. "Dave had a small smirk, Dave was still nervous, thinking this idea was a maybe not so good one but did it anyways.

Dave sighed and went to the front desk,"Hello...we are here to reserve the golden retriever, over in the back?"

"Of course!! Are you sure? That one is a bit skittish."she said and smiled

"Yep.. sure as can be. Every dog needs a home." Dave was biting his lip.

"Oh! You sure are right, okok. So Lucy is her name right now. She is reserved and pickup will be on Wednesday. Gotta get her all ready. "

Dave nodded his head and the two walked out, wishing they could take the pup home right then and there. They walked towards the car and got in and started home for the night

The next morning, Dave was on his laptop while John slept. Dave was looking for a house...crazy. he of course needed a better job..but he was going to look for a 4 bedroom 2 bathroom home.. He was going to try to work from home so they would need an office.  He was also looking for a big back yard, and a pool. The pool, obviously was no necessity but he said why not?
While the blonde looked for this stuff, going over it in his head, John had come up behind the couch and wrapped his arms around the others neck, smiling.

"Whata you doinnnnn?" John giggled tiredly, kissing at Dave's neck.

"Looking at houses, I think I found one. It has 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a big yard, and a pool."

"That sounds good!!"John moved the laptop and got onto his lap, laying his head on The others shoulder.
"I can use my parents Will money to put a heafty down payment on it...and get us into a comfortable situation. I'll need a better job though. Working at a coffee shop won't keep us this house."

"Okay!I'm gonna start pack-"
"John! This kind of stuff takes weeks...maybe even months. We have to look at the house first and we can do that in a bit, I'm  gonna go to the house though to look at it..please be careful while I'm gone."Dave got up and locked the doors on his way out, trying to hurry so he would know that John was okay.
Dave  had called to the person, so he could meet With the owner he was buying from, Dave worked out all the numbers and the house buying process would began.

Dave got into the car and drove back to the apartment kinda fast. Dave was so nervous about John because of his Cancer stuff before. He hurried home and once home he parked the car before running up the apartment stairs and unlocking the door.  He had the this unnerving feeling...John looked a bit off and he just felt like something was off today.

"John!!"Dave yelled kinda loudly and ran around the house. He checked everywhere but the bathroom. He walked in and huffed.

John was painting his nails, singing to himself.
"I called your name. Why didn't you answer?!?"

"I didn't hear you..."

"You should listen better next time please! I thought someone took you..or that you weren't okay!!"

"I'm sorry..."Johns eyes started filling up with tears.

Dave saw the tears, feeling bad before sitting down next to him and hugging him tight. The anxiety washed away as he took a deep breath.
"John I'm sorry.."Dave grabbed his hand and grabbed the nail polish and then started doing his nails for him.
"You know..this color looks good in you. You always look good in blue..Thank you for being safe."

"Thank you..how long before we can move in? I packed a bit already.." he smiled a bit, watching Dave do his nailed

"We have about two weeks."

Dave finished painting the nails and then began to get ready for bed, cleaning up the house.

"Okay!!"John said excitedly, jumping into bed. Looking at that house and doing all the numbers took most of the day,,

John laid down and Dave slowly slid into bed with him They both put there head on one pillow, eyes so close to each other are they looked at one another,"I love you," he wrapped his arm around john tightly," I love you too." John said softly before cuddling into Dave.
Dave was wondering how their life would be  in the future before falling into their deep slumber.
