another couple weeks have past. Dave was just exhausted through everything. It was morning now though..and Dave had fallen asleep on Johns lap the night before.
The doctor came in slowly,
"John is gonna be going home today, it wasn't as bad as last time because you brought him over here fast. "
"Okay.."Dave said as John woke up tiredly.
The doctor gave me release papers and Dave signed them. It was a lot of paper work.
They started taking the tubes out and the IV Dave was staring at the floor. John was coughing after they took most of the tubes out. He looked up to see John smiling after it was all done.
"Ready to go get the dog stuff and head to the animal shelter? We'll take it easy.."
"Mhm!!"John giggled super tiredly
Dave picked him up carefully. One of the paramedics had brought the car for them.
They got into the car and Dave began to drive to the pet store. They bought, beds, a kennal, dog food, dog bowels, dog toys, dog bones, and a collar.
After awhile they were up at the front desk to cash out.
"Are you getting dogs for the first time?"the cashier said while looking at all the stuff.
"Uhm yes."Dave had forgotten that everyone is going to be staring at John because he still had tubes in his nose for oxygen while his lungs rested for a bit
"Well Hi would you like some candy?"the cashier asked john.
"Oh my gosh. Are you sure??"John said while giggling.
"Oh course. Bring some happiness into your life."
"You're so sweet!! Thank you!!"John grabbed some candy.
Dave took the candy away from him and sighed."You can have it later, you just got out of the hospital like an hour ago."Dave looked at the cashier and whispered, "Thank you, made his day."
She nodded.
John and Dave began to walk out of the pet store with all their stuff before heading to the shelter.
Once there, they went inside to see if their pup was still there, Yes, she was, and yes, she was a lot bigger than before. Dave signed the paper work for her, John was getting more and more excited.
She unlocked the door and Lucy hurried over to John.
They paid and then left ,they got into the car and out the puppy in john's lap, she looked so relaxed to be out of that shelter.
"Okay john, I'm gonna put everything in the house then we will bring our little princess in.."
"Okay!!"John stayed in his seat, petting the little one, a big smile on his face
Dave picked up the puppy and brought it inside after getting everything else inside. John and Dave went into the bedroom and set up the kennel for her to sleep in.
John played with the little one before they all went into the living room. Dave sat on the couch and got her collar adjusted and ready, putting it around her neck.
They watched TV and movies for hours, going outside with her and just enjoying this new life. John was still focused on himself to breathing correctly and stuff. Camo would start back up again soon enough as well.
Dave smiled at him but then got up to put the Lucy in her kennel while he out food and water out. He opened up the door and let her eat Dave just hoped she would sleep. He closed the door and picked up john to put him on the counter,"You know...I love you."
"I love you too Davey!!"
"Please not that nickname. Actually nevermind. Your the only person who can call me that." Dave said while smiling a bit, he chuckled and made dinner for the both of them. He was pretty content even though he kinda was kinda nervous for the cancer aspect of his life.
