Tai was independent. She didn't like to listen to the orders Ren had for her. He would bark something in her direction, it made her roll her eyes or yell back.
Sometimes, to act out, she would hurt stormtroopers or one of his other workers. She didn't care for his rules. Kylo took note that she liked to attack the face, leaving scars on the faces of many of his workers. He hated it. He was the commander. He was in charge of her, not the other way around. Snoke said he should learn something from her, but the only thing he could ever learn from her was defiance.
"Why can't you just listen to what I ask you to do?" Ren screamed, throwing his hands in the air.
"Because," Tai said glaring, "I don't take orders from anyone but Snoke." Ren took a deep breath, trying to keep himself from wrapping his hands around her long neck.
"Snoke told you that you are now my firstmate. You have to listen to me and follow orders." His hands clenched in the black gloves. He realized in that moment that she hadn't seen his face. She probably didn't trust him. "Leave us," he ordered to the stormtroopers in the room. They quickly left, the metal doors hissing shut behind them. "You don't trust me?"
Tai glares, "Of course not. I trust nobody." She crossed her lean arms and leaned back in her chair.
"This isn't going to work if you don't trust me," Kylo said in his deep, distorted voice. He slowly reached up and pushed the small button on his helmet. Tai watched as the helmet expanded and the man started to lift it off. She was expecting someone horribly disfigured, like most people who wore helmets. But she was wrong, she saw the face of a regular man. His nose was long and he had freckles scattered on his face. A long scar went across his face, making him seem even more dashing.
"So," She started, "There is a man behind that mask." He smirked a bit and dropped the heavy metal on the desk. She jumped a bit, shocked by the sudden noise. Kylo noticed her eyes were bright and her pupils were dilated. "Can you not speak or something?"
"Of course I can speak," he said in his deep voice. "Who do you think has been yelling at you this whole time?" She glared at him and picked at her leather pants.
Hux came in suddenly, catching Tai off guard. She pulled her hood up over her head, hiding her face from their view. Hux sneered at Tai with disdain before looking at Kylo. "Can the little girl leave? We have First Order business to attend to."
"Excuse me?" She said with malevolence. Her hand twitched as if she was about to pull out her lightsaber. "I am the First mate. That means I am involved in all business surrounding the First Order. So, Hux," she growled menacingly, "Call me 'little girl' one more time." Her hand rested on her hip, within inches of her saber. Hux noticed where her hand was resting and looked at Kylo for guidance.
"Let her stay," the commander said with an eye roll. Hux sighed and glared at Tai. "What's the issue, Hux?" He said exasperated. Tai crossed her long arms with a cocked eyebrow.
"Well," Hux said with a glare at Tai, "There seems to be a problem with the Resistance. They are planning to land on Corellia, we believe it is within a month or so. They need something there. We could surround them. Find them. Take them prisoner."
Ren paused, weighing the pros and cons. "What if," Tai started drawing the attention of the two men. "Well I mean, we know where they are located. What if we send a decoy, to get information from them." Hux glared at her
"That is the silliest idea I've ever heard," Hux retorted. He was taller than Tai was. She was forced to look up at him.
"Actually. That's not the worst decision," Ren mused. He knew that the Resistance had thrived in the Illenian system. He knew that they thought he was dead, or at least mortally wounded. "But we need to pick the person to go. It's not going to be an easy pick."
"We should send the girl," Hux said, his nostrils flaring. Tai bared her teeth at him before he went flying back.
"Tai." Ren said as he pinned her to the chair with a wave of his hand, "Do not attack General Hux. He has actually suggested something useful. The Resistance does not know who you are. They do not know your power. You are the person that would be the easiest to slip into their base." Tai's nostrils flared as her yellow eyes glowed brighter. She started to squirm trying to escape from Ren's power.
"Fine. I'll do it," She relented. Her body slackened as he let her go. "Not because I want to." Hux slowly stood and looked at Ren. He was looking down at Tai as she glared at her boots. "Will Snoke approve of this? I was instructed to stay here and learn from Kylo Ren."
"He will agree," Hux said quickly," You are helping the First Order become more powerful." Ren shot a glare at Hux before pulling his heavy helm back over his hair. With a click and a hiss, he pulled his heavy black hood over the crest of his head. He stormed out, the doors opening before him. With one final glance behind him, the commander stormed away in a breath of air. Tai pulled down her hood and glared with full force at Hux. He felt his heart seize up in fear when he saw her eyes.
"Pretty girls like you shouldn't have eyes like that," he said, regaining his cold composure. She walked over to him and pushed him against the wall with the Force floating around him. Tai got close to his face.
"You need to realize and accept that I have the high ground. I have the power. I am the First mate now. I have the power of the Force. Stop calling me trivial names, like girl or child." She said, pulling her deadly blade from the holster on her thigh. "Insult me like that again, and the last thing you see is the dark light of my blade as it goes through your body. Understand?"
Hux let out a small noise of agreement, turning his head away from her evil eyes. She smirked coldly before stepping away, "Good." She reholstered her weapon. She pulled the hood over her elaborate bun and shaded her face. "I'm glad we had this little chat." She turned quickly and exited the room, her long black cape flying behind her.
