Amanda could not stop thinking of her nightmares. There was nothing obviously scary about them, she thought, but somehow those dreams portrayed a date as something sinister. Victoria and Amanda still continued to go on many dates and eventually, they considered themselves to be together but they could not let anyone else know, as they lived in a homophobic society.
Victoria did not notice the nightmares she got on the second date though. They were just like Amandas. She had many nightmares anyway so the corrupt date nightmares weren't surprising to Victoria.
For now, they were both happy, and that's all that mattered. One night, though, Amandas sister confronted her about being gone all of the time. "Why," the older teen started, "have you been gone almost every night?" Amanda felt a blush rise up her neck as she said, "Sadie, I have just been out with friends. No need to worry. Everything is under control."
Sadie was not the best sibling. She was the troublemaker of the family and often tried to find ways to get her other siblings in trouble as though it was some statistic game. If Amanda could only use one word to describe her older sister, it would be bitch. "You don't need to lie to me," Sadie smirked, "I know that Victoria wouldn't appreciate that."
