Finally Home Again

I slowly opened my eyes. But it was so bright. I blinked a few times before being able to open my eyes wide enough to see where I was. I hate hospitals. I wasn't alone though. I saw Erica holding my hand. My Dad was sitting down on the chair next to my bed while Megan and Lachlan were leaning on the wall talking between themselves.

Erica: "He's awake."

Luca: "I hate hospitals. The food is shit."

Dad: "Your not going to be in here long enough to know it anyway."

Lachlan was about to talk before Seth and Mum walked in with a doctor behind them. Mum ran over and hugged me.

Doctor: "Good evening Luca. How are you feeling?"

Luca: "I have a massive headache. Other then that just a little bit sick."

Doctor: "You took a beating at school today."

Luca: "Last thing I remember was sitting against the wall while Megan was trying to fix me up."

Doctor: "If Megan hadn't known what she was doing I feel like you would be a bit worse for wear."

Seth: "Well after I told them essentially to go fuck themselves. They started walking off. Though they walked off in your direction. Most of them walked off but the last one kicked you in the head. You pretty much got knocked out. We ran to you and forgot about the others. Klean called an ambulance and Nathan called your parents. And yeah. They grabbed you and put you into the ambulance and we have been here since."

Doctor: "You only suffered from minor head injuries and bruising. You got lucky. It could have been worse. You can leave when your ready. Just head downstairs and sign out. Obviously we would recommend you not going back to school. Even though it's the last week right?"

Heads nodded and the doctor stopped and looked at my parents.

Doctor: "Regardless I still think it would be better to stay home."

After he walked out I could feel everyone looking at me.

Luca: "I still intend to go. It's the last week and we have 3 days to go. I can't back out now. Plus I'm pretty sure they won't leave you guys alone."

I tried to get up out of bed but that didn't go too well. Dad and Seth helped me walk. I got really dizzy and almost fell over. Hopefully they won't last too long.

Mum: "Alright we are all going to Megan's place. She said we will meet you guys there."

Dad: "Hey Seth mate. You know the way right?"

Seth: "Yeah I got you covered. Come on let's get him in signed out and ready."

Megan come running back and Seth swapped over with Nathan.

Megan: "Nope. Seth is coming with us. We are going to be a fair while ahead of you. So I'm taking Seth so he can start cooking up a meal for everyone. It's already 5 o clock. By the time we get back home..."

Luca: "Dinner sounds great."

The smile on her face grew and I knew this was the real test for Seth as well. They ran off and Erica stayed with me.

Erica: "How are you feeling at the moment?"

Luca: "I'm ok."

She walked up to me and kissed my cheek before hugging me. I shrugged off Nathan and wrapped my arm around her shoulder's.

Dad: "I knew it."

Luca: "Shit I never told you guys did I?"

Dad: "Nope but I don't mind. At least we have known Erica for a long time."
