Friday had come. Emily had grown nervous every time she thought about the maybe date with Conner. It was driving her crazy. She had never been on a date before. When she told her parents that she was going out on a maybe date with a boy they freaked....well her mom was excited and bubbly while her dad grumbled a few interesting words.
It was now four and she had only an hour to get ready. She looked through her wardrobe and nothing seemed to appeal. She had tried on many outfits she had loved but this night they all looked terrible.
Was she over exaggerating? What if it's just a friendly hang out? Maybe she should dress casually. Yea, casual, but cute.
She picked out a pink sweater with white polka dotted striped and a black skirt with a comfy skirt and Some brown combat boots.
This is cute! But is it to much? Oh, no is it to much!
A knock had interrupted her thoughts. "Come in!" She called though the door.
Her mom had came in and gasped.
"What!? Is it to much?" She asked. Emily loved her mom and her moms opinion mattered to her.
"No, you just look so...beautiful and grown up" Emily could tel her mom would start to tear up so she wrapped her into a warm embrace.
"Thanks mom" Emily whispered.
Her mom sniffled as she let go of her embrace. She smiled at her beautiful daughter.
"He should be here any minute" her mom said.
"I'm almost done. Mom?" Emily looked into her mothers green eyes. The green eyes she had inherited. As long as her wavy blonde hair.
"Yes honey?"
"Can you do your famous French braid?" Emily asked. Her mothers French braid was flawless. Emily could never do it as well.
"Of course" her mother sat down on her bed and patted to the spot next to her.
Emily smiled as she sat down and her mother did her braid.
...
The door bell had rung and Emily was nervous. Like really really nervous.she just knew her dad would be all mean towards Conner. She had really hoped her dad would be nice but he was protective of her. He wanted his daughter to be safe.
She heard her dad open the door and greet Conner in. So far so good.
"Hello mr.Jacobs" Emily heard conners voice say.
"Hello. My daughter has told me you wanted to take her out on a date. How long have you known my daughter?" Her dad asked.
Oh, no I must stop it!
But her legs wouldn't move. She was to nervous to see Conner.
"A couple weeks" Conner answered.
"Ok. Where do you plan on taking my daughter?"
"Oh, there's an outside movie playing and I thought we could do that" Conner didn't seem to be nervous as much as Emily was.
Does he like me? Do I like him?
"After that?"
"Oh, just a walk through the park and some ice cream"
"Ok. What are your feelings for my daughter?"
Emily wanted to hear this part, but her mom had come upstairs. Her mom paused once she saw Emily crouching down near the stairwell.
"Emily? Are you spying?" Her mother asked amused.
"Uh, no, I just dropped something" Emily stood up.
"Ok, anyway Conner is here" her mom still looking at her amused.
"I'm ready" Emily nodded and picked up her bag. Her mom and her descended the stairs.
Emily's heart was beating fast. She was nervous. They entered the living room.
Her father and Conner were sitting on the couch. As soon as Emily entered Conner stood up and smiled.
He was wearing a nice button up shirt with his usual leather jacket and casual jeans.
Emily's eyes widened. How can he look so good in such a casual outfit? Has he always had that stubble on his chin? Since when did he grow hair on his chin? He looks really good with it!
Emily thought. Her heart was racing and racing. How could Conner act so causal and calm where Emily was freaking out.
Maybe she was over reacting.
"Hey, pumpkin" Conner smiled his dreamy smile. His smile made Emily's knees wobble.
Put yourself together woman!
"Um, H-hi" her cheeks flushed and she looked down an the floor.
"Well aren't you two cute?" Her mother chuckled. "You two better get going" Emily's mom embraced her and Emily turned go her father.
"Be home by nine. No later" her father embraced her also.
Conner led Emily out the door and out to his motorcycle. If her father saw his bike she would be dead.
Emily had never been on one before. Her nerves grew more. Conner had parked all the way down their driveway.
"You ever been on one before?" He asked.
"No"
"Well your about to. You look really beautiful pumpkin" he turned toward her.
"Oh, thanks" her face flushed.
"You are to cute pumpkin" he chuckled.
He held out a helmet towards her. "Ready?"
Despite her nerves and her mind telling her to not get on that death trap she had grabbed the helmet anyway and Put it on.
