What do you think summer is?
Is it the glaring sun?
Is it by the pool with cold drinks?
I think summer is fun.
Some say summer is bright
And others say its too warm.
I think summer actually is
The blue sky after a storm.
Some prefer windy autumn
And some prefer flowery spring
Some even like chilly winter
But summer is a wonderful thing
Summer isn't the sun
You can find summer in the rain.
It isn't bright either
Summers can be plain.
Summer is the memory
Of you friends when you play
Summer is the smiles
You show your family each day
I didn't have a summer this year
There was no fun or smiles
Just the silent pitter patter
Of tear drops on slate tiles.
My friends and family gathered
At the place where they buried me
This year I'm afraid
There was no summer to see.
