What does he mean "She looks like she could still be alive. I have hope for this one."? I was alive. I didn't die. I'm supposed to graduate high school. Go to college. Get married. Start a family. Grow old with my husband. If I was dead I would've known it, right? It would explain why John couldn't hear me but I don't feel dead. If I was dead I wouldn't be able to hear them or see them, right?
Just as I started thinking about the possibility of death a couple of guys came in, placed my body on gurney, and took my body out of the school and into the ambulance. I never noticed how out dated my school was. The outside was made out of stone, which was covered by moss and vines with thorns. Shouldn't that be a safety hazard? It looked like a medieval style castle. Only it was supposedly built 10 years ago.
As the men place me into the ambulance I hear the whale coming over, screaming at the men. "Why are yous taking this girl to the hospital?! She's in perfect health!" her voice screeches every word and hurts everyone's ear drums. i can just picture her red eyes burning into their souls. "ma'am. This girl was found practically dying in the bathroom. We have to take her now." His voice low but calming. Like he was trying to push the urgency but not too much. "Bring her to the nurse. She will help. And if yous don't, I'll come out here with a gun and shoot all of yous." Why does she always put 's' after you. Like you are supposed to be a principal. Learn how to speak.
The men, probably fearing for their life and not to anger a whale, brought me to nurse Wing. She is a Bitch. Honestly. I went in there one time after an injury from track and she said "yeah, your ankle is pretty swollen but you can still walk the 10 flights of stairs to your next class."
They dropped me off in the back of the room on top of one of the beds. "Let me see the damage," the bitch walked in. "oh. We got ourselves another cutter I see. I'll take care of this boys. I'll take care of you later." She winked at them, you should've seen the disgust on their faces when that 74 year old women said that to them. It was pretty hilarious. They couldn't have gotten out of here fast enough.
As soon as they left, she mixed some different kinds of medicine into a syringe and jabbed it into my hip. "OH MY GOD YOU BITCH!" I screamed from the immense pain she just caused. "Listen freak, you don't talk to someone like that just saved your life." Wait, she can hear me? How is this possible? "Go back to class as if nothing happened." I stared at her then ran out of there. I have to find john. But where could he be.
As I'm passing all the classrooms with their doors close, probably nothing important happening, I approach one. The only one with the door open, the lights off, and only one person standing, just looking at something on a desk. I walk in. It's Robbie. "What are you doing Robbie?" he turns to look at me. His eyes glowed. Then darkened. "Look at this. It's the most beautiful thing in the world." I walked over to see what was on the desk. But the room was too dark to completely see what it was. "Here" his eyes started to glow again, making a light shine on the object. What was so beautiful about shoes? What was he?
"Question. Why are these shoes so beautiful? They are just shoes." "You don't understand. They are Saucony. The best shoe to ever live on this world." "Why are they here though? I don't understand." I stared at him. Trying to find out what was going on. "This room. It gives you the thing you want the most. It brought the two things I wanted. The shoes and ..." he stopped. And stared at me for a minute. His eyes still glowing illuminating his whole face. He started to blush. "How is this even possible?" "It's the power of the teacher that died in this room. The great Ortiz."
