"I'm what?" I asked quietly. Jeff just stared at me in concern. "I'm not immortal I'm breathing and I can get hurt."
"But you can't die, Clare. You just died. Stabbed by a long knife. All the way through your stomach. Beaten and thrown around everywhere. By te Magician. You were burned and suffocated. You died and came back to life." Jeff explained gently.
"I couldn't have died. It's just not possible." I said stepping backwards and my knees hit the couch knocking me backwards.
"You have to believe me it is." Jeff said. "But nothing is adding up with this."
"What did I say before I... Died. It's all really fuzzy." I said looking up at Jeff.
"I'm sorry."
"Ok but what did I say?"
"You said 'I'm sorry'." Jeff stated again.
"Wh- Oh." I said as realization hit me.
"What are you sorry for."
"Everything. I guess. When I said that, I was apologizing for everything I had ever done to you. For stabbing you constantly. For making those quirky remarks that drives everyone insane. For being mean and most of all, rejecting you when I needed you most of all. When we needed eachother and I tossed you aside like trash. For everything. I guess I just complicate things right?" I said sadly shrugging my shoulders with a half hearted smile.
"Do you think since we killed the Magician everything including us will change, for the better? Like what happened when we stabbed Slenderman?"
"We still have unfinished business to attend to, or I do. Why?" I asked curiously.
"Uhm nevermind it can wait then." He smiled the widest and guiltiest smile I've ever seen and I laughed.
"Well this is just impossible but she's not immortal, she's just human. A crazy psycho human." Masky stated bursting into the living room.
"Thanks you psychopath." I flashed him a smile.
"Anyways I don't know how it happened. But she just came to life. Like there are no boundaries anymore. Anything can happen. The Magician is dead there's no one controlling what happens anymore and she had such a fucking strong willed psycho spirit she brought herself to life." Hoodie explained.
"So she's not immortal? She can become human again?" Jeff asked.
"About that." I whispered to him. "I'm not sure I want to be human. I think I just want to stay like this. It's a much easier life."
"But this isn't living. Living is being out there with those no good humans and taking risks. This is the equaliviliant of being dead." Jeff angrily explained.
"But I'm with you. And I have all my memories of my friends." I shrugged.
"But ill be with you either way."
"But my memories won't." I got up and walked outside.
"Wait before you go anywhere." Jeff came up to me and kissed me right on the lips, in the middle of the plain. Where blood was everywhere and flowers where growing. He kissed me like it was the end of the world. His world.
"What was that for. We're not even together." I breathed.
"Will you once again be my girlfriend? I don't think I can survive without you again." He said sheepishly.
"You're so stupid." I said slipping his knife from his pocket and running to the edge of the forest. "I'll bring it back!" I shouted and continued to run. Through the trees and eventually through the camp site and through the park and through the neighborhood until I came upon one house. That house. From that year ago where I killed my father and went mad. Where Scarlett and Brandon now live. Together.
