"You weren't involved in this. But now, you got yourself involved in this. Watch yourself." Malith turned around and ran through the woods in a shadow-y wolf form.

"Malith is alot quieter than that. Must have been another duplicate." Jeff muttered as he brushed the non-existent dirt form his spotless white sweatshirt.

"What are you doing here?" I asked in a failing snarl. Instead it came out more like a whimper.

"Saving your ass." Jeff replied emotionless. Well I guess it doesn't matter how I say it then.

"Why?" I asked as I brushed the actual dirt from my dress.

"Because I'm not going to let you get mauled by a BlackNight." Jeff grunted as he began polishing his knife in his pants.

"Thats what their species is called? Thats pathetic." I huffed wiping blood off my arms.

"Better than Creepypasta." Jeff growled in an agitated tone.

"Well now you got yourself involved in a problem you didn't need to be apart of in the first place." I turned and began walking in the opposite direction that Jeff was standing in, even if it was the wrong way to the house.

"Thats the wrong way." Jeff said.

"I know that." I snapped half-heartily.

"Then I suggest you go the right way instead." Jeff had softened his voice just enough for me notice.

"Why do you care so much? You shouldn't care anymore." I said harshly turning around and walking the right way past Jeff.

"Because," He reached his arm out and grabbed my wrist pulling me gently towards him, "I still care about you. I don't know why but I still do and I want you to know that. Because I love you." He said loudly. A gasp escaped my lips, a little quiet one.

"No you don't. Because we can't love. We aren't privileged enough to have the right to that feeling. We are killers and can't love. Its not possible!" I said growing steadily louder throughout my statement.

"Yes we can. Because I love you." He was looking at me in a pleading manner with sad, loving eyes and a soft, gentle grip as if he was caressing my wrist like it was a delicate flower. "I love you Clare and I don't care what anyone else thinks."

"I don't think anyone else thinks to much of it." I scoffed but didn't pull my wrist away.

"I don't care I just want you to know that I do." He stared into my eyes as they wavered from black to blue and his skin turned from bleach white to very pale. "I love you and want you." He exclaimed.

"No Jeff! Stop! Don't say that! You can't!" I begged as I realized what was happening. I pulled my wrist from his hand and pushed him away so he fell on the ground. "Stop what you are saying right now! I don't love you and I never will! I hate you!" The last words echoed off the trees as birds screeched as they flew away from their nests and the forest got silent. Jeff's skin turned back to the bleach white it has always been and his eyes turned black as night.

"What?" Jeff asked as he once again got up and brushed the non exsistent dirt on his sweatshirt. How does that thing stay so clean?!

"You're back. You're not changing anymore!" I said happily as I gave Jeff a hug that knocked him to the ground once again. I realized how much I did care for him though. I hated myself for it.

"What are you talking about?" Jeff asked confused.

"You were transforming into your human form with bright blue eyes but I didn't let it happen, I need you. I need your help. And I'm sorry I was so mean but we can't focus on that right now we need to find Jane and Jack before its too late." I said getting up and looking around quickly.
