Beth went through nearly her entire wardrobe until she realized all her clothes looked too preppy for a date with Daryl. She had made sure to say his name in her head a billion times so she didn't make a fool of herself by calling him Mr Muscles to his face.
She knew what she had to do. She had to call the person who had been trying to get her to vamp up her look for years. Well, besides Rosita. But with this comes probably endless questions of 'How'd you meet him?' and 'Where are you going to eat?' and 'What are you going to make him for breakfast in the morning?'
"Maggie, I have a date tonight and I have nothing to wear!" Beth cried into the phone, about to go into full on panic mode.
"I'll be right there!" Maggie practically squealed into the phone.
Beth didn't know whether to be relieved over having help with her dilemma or be freighted over the amount of glee her older sister seemed to get over her call. It was probably a mixture of both, which is basically how she feels about the date itself. She really likes him, but she's afraid she'd do something stupid, like end up spilling water on a white blouse due to nerves and have said blouse be completely see through in a matter of seconds. This had actually happened to her on a blind date once. However, that had been a blessing in disguise. Tara's girlfriend, Denise, who was a medic had set her up with Sheriff Grimes Deputy, Shane Walsh. The look on his face was the look of a complete and total perve when that happened.
She wondered if guys go through the same thing. She doubted someone as cool as Daryl would ever be some neurotic mess like her. Showering three times and still feeling like she might need another because she was sweating so much. Or wondering if she'd say or do something stupid and ruin the date and maybe any chance of having any chance of him wanting to see her again.
"This dress will be perfect!" Maggie proclaimed as she barreled through the door. "It shows some leg but not too much. It shows some cleavage but not too much. And it's a solid dark color, so if you spill water on it, you won't be practically naked!"
Beth tried the dress on and she had to agree with Maggie. The dress was perfect. After quickly doing her hair and makeup Beth was almost ready to leave when Maggie handed her a small foil package.
"Really Maggie?" Beth snapped. Beth wasn't a virgin, but she wasn't very experienced either. She's had two boyfriends in her life. Jimmy and Zach. And they were the only two guys she had slept with. And she wasn't sure if they were bad at it, she was bad at it, or if they all were just too young and inexperienced, but she never felt the earth move like Maggie said it was like when she was with her husband Glenn. Or as Rosita described the passion she felt when she was with Abe. But if anything she wasn't sure if she would ever feel comfortable sleeping with a guy on the first date.
That thought alone made her even more nervous. 'What if he wants to sleep with me?' Beth decided to just push all of her thoughts of doubt on her mind and try to pull up her inner confidence. As they say, fake it until you make it. And who knows? Maybe Daryl might be the one.
