Daryl stubbed out his cigarette before he entered 'Crazee Beanery'.  Daryl hated hipster coffee shops and bars, but he had to admit they had the best coffee.  The downside is that most of the girls in there stare at him from the moment he walks in until the moment he leaves.  Except the blonde who had to be the prettiest girl he had ever seen.

But he knew she was too good for him.  He was the type to pick up a drunk barfly while he was drunk himself and both knew the score; it was usually in an alley or in his truck.  And if they made it to his or her apartment they'd do a quick exit come morning.  Very rarely was he with the same woman twice.  He didn't do it that often.  Just when he had an itch to scratch and after seeing Blondie he had a feeling some bottle blonde is gonna have a good time tonight  outside the alley of Jake's Bar.

"What was that?" Daryl asked the girl.

"Would you like to grab dinner with me tonight?" Blondie asked nervously. He looked over at frick and frack, whose nametags read 'Tara' and 'Rosita' and how hopeful they looked at their friend.  He was stunned she asked him out and was stunned that she was afraid he'd reject her.

This was the girl he always avoided.  The sweet girl who would want picnics and marriage and babies.  The girl that could break down his walls.  And when he found himself saying , "Sure," he knew he was.

"I'm Beth, by the way," she said, holding her hand out to shake.  "Beth Greene."

"Daryl," he replied, shaking her outstretched hand.  "Daryl Dixon."

As he headed out to his truck, coffee in hand, he couldn't believe he had her number in his cell phone.
