Daryl grabbed the keys to his motorcycle.

"Where you goin'?" Merle asked.

"Gotta do somethin'," Daryl replied.

"You ain't goin' back to that uptight blond bitch are ya?" Merle asked.

It clicked for Daryl at that moment. He knew he loved Beth, but he stood by Merle over a fucked-up sense of loyalty. He knew then his place was with Beth and not hanging out with Merle every night getting lit.

When Daryl got to the apartment, Rosita didn't seem surprised to see him. Tara and Rosita quickly left. They wanted to give them their privacy, especially being they were pretty sure there might be lots of make-up sex.

"I treated ya like shit and I'm sorry," Daryl told her. "I shouldn't 've blown you off to hang out with Merle. You should always be my top priority and from here on out ya are."

Beth ran over to Daryl and kissed him. And, like Tara and Rosita thought as the rushed out, there was a lot of make-up sex right after.

Daryl never again put Merle, or anyone for that matter, before Beth.

They had gotten married the following spring and the following year they had a little boy, which was followed by a little girl two years after. Deep down Daryl wondered if they were where they were now because of Rosita. If Rosita hadn't gone to O'Malley's Daryl was pretty sure he'd still be following Merle. That might be part of the reason he insisted on naming Rosita and Martinez, who had recently married themselves, as their son's godparents.
