Chapter 2. Once A Stranger.

“You owe me big time! Makikita mo! (You’ll see!)” I heard from the lady behind me yelling to the guy in front of me. She’s wearing her sexy top with blazer on it and a mini skirt. And this guy wearing a black coat, his back is facing me right now. I need to step aside before he would face me and---

“Ano? (What?) What did you say?” I knew it; he’s now facing me with his devilish eyes. He wasn’t even aware that I am not the one who shriek awhile ago, but that lady behind me. As if on cue, I looked behind me where the lady was but she’s already gone.

“Teka..(Wait..) I don’t know what you’re t---” I trailed off, contemplating something. That is, I noticed that those two guys speak in Tagalog (a Filipino Language). Great.

“Wait, are you a Filipino?” I smiled and before I knew what he’s going to react, I was too late to see his infuriating face. I grimaced. It’s like a What-The-Hell look. Damn, I am pissed off. I hate that looks, by the way.

“God damn people.” He whispered but still I heard it. He shook his head in displeasure and stares at me, “Paano kung sabihin ko sayong Filipino nga ako, pagsisisihan mo bang sinigawan mo ako?! (How about if I tell you I am a Filipino, would you regret that you yelled at me?!)” He told me with hatred in his eyes. Is he really up to something?

Of course, I quickly defend myself. I don’t want anybody else treat me the way like that. “Paano kung sabihin ko sayong hindi ako yung nanigaw sayo? (How about if I tell you that I wasn’t the one who yelled at you?” while putting both of my hands on my hips. He looks so humiliated after but still back on his usual self, “That’s strange. You were the only one who’s behind me. Then who would it b--” I cut him off and tell him, “All of a sudden, the lady had disappeared when you looked back.” I smirked and continue saying, “Can’t you recognize one’s voice? God! My voice is really that different from hers.” I pointed out and looked on the other side where I noticed someone looking at us mischievously. And who the hell is that guy just standing there and giving that look which really annoys me a lot?

As if on cue, he suddenly went near us and says, “I saw the lady run up there.” While pointing at the building across the street from where we are standing, so we both tilted our heads in the direction where his forefinger was pointing at. There’s a silhouette of a lady in the window pane of a room in that building and seconds later, a silhouette of a man appeared.

There I suddenly caught my lips forming an ‘O’ as if I am facing the mirror right now and cover my eyes from what I have seen. That is a Caught-in-The-Act scene! Why could I react so frantic when it was just a little make out session behind a window pane? Duh, my red cheeks started to appear, I guess.

“What the hell? It’s Amanda’s apartment….” I heard this guy whispered next to me. There are still some words coming from his mouth that I couldn’t hear anymore. I looked at him curiously. He’s just looking up at the window pane in the second floor. I am now starting to fathom things about that look. Great, I was right. That name he muttered is the lady’s name who shrieked earlier and I hope he will now realize that his false claims were definitely wrong.
