        It was dark out. We had walked and talked for hours together. It was nice. I learned a lot about him, and he learned a bit about me as well. It was about 11:30 when we decided to call it a night, and he started to walk me to my car.
"Promise me you'll listen to some normal music." He laughed. I bumped his arm with mine, furrowing my brows a bit.
"My music is normal!" I argued. He smiled at me and nodded with a sarcastic look in his eyes. "Okay fine whatever." We stopped at my car and I pulled out my keys.
"I expect you to know every word to every song I sent you by tomorrow." He said turning to me, I shook my head laughing.
"Alright sir."
"Good." He said as the laughs faded. I looked down at my feet and then back up at him. The silence that had been made wasn't awkward. It was one of those good silences, it's unexplainable.
"I'm glad we hung out." I had broken the silence.
"I'm glad we did too." He said. A moment passed before he wrapped me in a hug. I hugged him back just as tightly as he did, berrying my face into his shirt. As the hug broke, I turned to my car and unlocked it. My thoughts going everywhere. He was great. Perfect in fact! Why didn't I kiss him? Why didn't he kiss me?
"We should do this again sometime." He interrupted as I opened my door. I looked back at him and I nodded, my smile growing even bigger, I didn't even know I could smile as big as I did. He smiled back, nodding and heading over to his car. I watched him until I saw him look back at me, that's when I shut my door. I didn't want him to know I was staring. I started my car, but before I backed out I opened my phone and plugged in the aux cord, that had never been used. I pressed shuffle on the playlist he sent me, and the first song to play was, Could Have Been Me by a band called The Struts. I pulled out and was on my way home.
10 minutes into the drive I had played the same song over 4 times. I knew almost every word. I was the happiest I had been in a really long time, and I loved every second of it. When I finally ended up back at my house, I tried my best to sneak in so that I wouldn't wake anyone up. I shut the door softly behind me and started to walk towards the stairs when the living room lamp flicked on. My sister sat staring at me, a huge grin planted on her face.
"Cool, huh?" She whispered standing to her feet and walking over to me, "I saw it in The Incredibles, so I thought I'd try it out."
"Very cool, goodnight." I said quickly, trying my best to get to my room.
"Stop!"
"Shhhh! Grandma's sleeping." I hushed.
"What happened with the guy?" She questioned as I made it to the top of the steps.
"Nothing." I smiled, walking to my room and shutting the door behind me. Making sure it was locked so she couldn't come in to bug me about what had happened. As I slipped off my outfit and got into some pajamas I felt myself humming the tune of the song. Happily, I laid down and turned off my room light. Closing my eyes I thought about the day. The conversations, the music, the hug. It was one of the best things I had done in a long time. As those thoughts buzzed through my head, I slowly slipped into a sweet sleep.

~~~
I woke to pounding on my door and sat up quickly, expecting the worst. I shot to my door and unlocked it, opening it to see my sister standing there dazed.
"Did grandma die?" I asked in a sad tone. My sister squinted at me weirdly.
"Shut the fuck up." I nodded at this and stared at her. "Who did you hang out with yesterday?"
"A guy named Cody.." I stammered "Why are you asking?" She looked down to her phone and unlocked it as fast as she could.
"Where did you go?" She asked still looking at her phone intently.
"The park...What happened??" I questioned.
"What was he wearing?"
"ANA!" I yelled. She looked up at me with wide eyes, turning her phone to me so that I could see what she saw. The photo was dark, but I could make out two figures. I grabbed the phone from her and pulled it closer to my face. My sister grabbed her phone back from me and turned her brightness up.
"My bad." She apologized, turning the phone back to me. It was clearer now. The picture was of us, when we hugged, and the bolded red text above it read, Has Cody Carson finally found someone to call his?
