A few miles away from the Village Hidden in the Leaves.....
Early evening.....
_______________
Jin's POV
--------------
I set a few logs down, and grabbed one of Karina's hatchets. "Don't break it this time." She hissed, as she sharpened the one she's holding.
I sweat dropped. "I won't. I promise." I hit the log, and broke the log in half.
Damn! She must've reinforced this thing! A normal hatchet would've broke. She must've been working on her black smithing skills. I looked toward Karina, and noticed a few smaller hatchets near her. I also noticed the blade on her back.
"Yes?" She said, still sharpening her weapons.
"Oh! Uh.... nothing, Karina." I said, a little nervous. Seeing her angry reminds me of Yuuki. Heh. She was a real hothead when it came to certain things.
But, then again she only got mad over things that were important to her. Like her family.
Anyways, I cut up the wood into smaller pieces, and began to make a fire. I placed the small sticks into a pile, then placed bigger sticks around them, making a teepee shape.
"How's the fire coming?" Shinji said, placing a bag onto the ground.
"It's coming along pretty well." I noticed the bag. "Say, what's in the bag?" I pointed it out.
"Oh, just a bit of supplies. Food, clothes.... stuff like that." He took it into our tent, and came back out.
"Where's Yumi?" I asked, a little worried. "Oh, she's hunting again. Man, ever since I let her try some deer, she's been dying to get some more, ever since." Shinji explained. I always remembered that Yumi never ate meat. Heh, she always stuck to vegetables.
Hmm, now she's a meat eater. Huh.
I grabbed two rocks, and hit them together, causing sparks to fly. I hit them over the fire. The sparks hit, and began burning the straw. I blew it a few times, bringing the fire to life.
I sat upright, smiling in pride.
'I still got it.' I thought.
"Hey guys! Wait up!" A familiar voice called from the road.
That voice.. Is that Naruto?
I stood, and grabbed a canteen full of water, and ran towards the road.
I broke through the hedge, and appeared on the edge of the road.
"Hey! You!" I called towards Naruto. He looked exhausted.
"Huh?" He looked my way, still tired. I noticed his chakra was a little low.
"Here." I said, passing him the canteen. He blinked a few times, and looked at the canteen. "Are you sure?" He asked, a little hesitant.
"Yeah." He grinned, and chugged the water down. He finished by wiping his mouth, and handing me the canteen.
"Thanks!" He said, and ran along the road.
'You gave him some of your chakra, didn't you?' Hikaru asked me.
'Yeah. When he touched the canteen when I passed it to him, I transferred a chunk of my chakra to him. Real easy, actually.' I stumbled, and fell to my knees.
'But now, you'll be helpless for a while.' Kage stated. As if I didn't need him to tell me.
'Yeah, yeah, I know.' I thought, and managed to stand up.
I walked through the bushes, and made my way back to the camp.
When I arrived, no one noticed that I left. Good.
I sat near the fire, and fed the fire more wood. It crackled, and began began burning it. It grew brighter.
I looked into the fire, and began wondering if I did the right thing.
Was it really okay for me to take a person's life, just for me to survive?
Did I really make the right decision?
I heard a few twigs snap. I drew my blade, spun around, and tackled the intruder against a tree, while holding the sword against his/her throat.
"Who are you, and what are you doing here?!" I demanded, making both my chakra, and my parents chakra flare brightly.
"Jin?"
I realized who it is. "Yumi."I let her go, and sheathed my blade. "I... I'm sorry. I didn't mean to..... Damn." I hit my head against a tree.
"Jin. What's happened to you?" She asked, looking a little worried.
I leaned against the tree, and slid down to the roots. She sat near me, with her hand against my back.
"You don't have to worry anymore. Please..... just rest, okay?" I felt a strange sensation. I feel drowsy.... exhausted........everything slowed down, as I collapsed onto the ground.
Yumi's POV
I reached into my bag, and pulled out a headset. I turned it on, and slipped it onto my head.
"Gzzt! Has it been done?" Shinji asked.
"Yeah. I knocked him out, and used the jutsu. What now?" I asked, looking back at Jin.
"Me and Karina will help you take him to Kuro. So, that means you can stop the act." He appeared beside me, and turned back to normal.
"We know who he really is. A Leaf Shinobi. We'll capture him, and see what the Leaf would want for him. Heh heh...." I turned back to myself, and wore my hooded robe, alongside him.
Karina was the only one whodidn't transform. She didn't need to. She's the real deal.
"We'll take turns carrying him. Alright?"
