Jin's POV

The wind blew my hair around, as I gazed at my own reflection in the water. I reached out to touch it, but I couldn't reach. I sighed, and made my way home.

While I was walking,  noticed that most of the people I knew were a lot wise, and a bit more mature than usual. When I reached the street before the street I lived on, I stumbled across Hinata, and another Hyuga, I guess?  I really couldn't tell.

"Oh, Jin! I haven't seen you for a long time!" Hinata said, hugging me. I winced. I  was hoping she wouldn't notice, but she did. "What's wrong?" She said, concerned.

"I'm still a little sore from my wounds. But other than that, I'm fine.." I said, rubbing my sore ribs.

"Oh, I'm sorry, I didn't know." She was being mother-like. I smiled.

"Oh, this is my cousin, Aiko Hyuga. She's a ninja as well. Say hello, Aiko." A girl the same age as Hinata, popped out from behind her, and said "Hello..." She was shy. I chuckled, and said "Don't worry. I won't hurt you, I promise." I held out my hand, ad as I thought, she held it. I noticed that she looked a lot like Hinata, but she wore her hair in a ponytail, and it  is brown. Her skintone was a little different as well. Peach. She also wore the typical ninja gear. Well, most of it.

"Where are you headed?" Hinata asked.

"I'm actually heading back to my place. I don't have any missions to go on right now, so I thought 'Why don't I do some gardening?' and now, well, I got to meet a new face. What about you?" I asked Hinata.

"We're going to be training, for a bit." She said.

"Mind if I join you? I really need the exercise." I asked, hopefully.

"Um.... well... okay. If you can handle it." She said, sounding competitive.

"I can handle it." I said as I entered the gate to their house. We stood 10 feet from each other, and went into our stances. Both Aiko and Hinata were using Gentle Fist, while I used my White Dragon fighting style. "Begin!" Hinata called before charging at me. "Wait!" I yelled, before tying my headband around my eyes. They activated their Byakugan, and began to strike me.

"8 Trigrams 32 Palms!" Aiko called as she attempred to hit me. I dodged every single attack. She didn't hit me a single time.

I remembered the fight between Neji and I. I remembered how much destruction I could cause. I stopped blocking their attacks, and let them strike me.

I didn't feel a thing, not one jab. Even though I was hit in 100 different spots.

"What?" Hinata called out. "It didn't work!" Aiko said, surprised. I grinned. "White Dragon's Barrage!"  As I called that, I swept Aiko's feet, grabbed her foot, and tossed her in the air. I jumped up, met her in the air, and began to hit her.

But then.....

*Flashback*

"My son, use this technique. Someday, it will be of use to you. Understood?" A man said, to his 5 year-old son.

"Yes, Father." Said a very young ninja-in-training.

"A great ninja must know his enemies. A great ninja must also know how to fight. Now..."  He shook a tree branch off the road, and a dummy appeared.

"Show me what you can do...."

*End of Flashback*

I snapped back into reality, and landed on the ground. After I landed, I caught a beaten up Aiko. I looked upon her, and began to tear up.

"Is she okay?" Hinata asked. "She's fine. Just a couple cuts and bruises." I said, before standing straight. Hinata noticed my tears, and asked "Why are you crying? She's going to be okay. It's not like you killed her." I faced her, and said "It's not that. It's just...." I turned around, and ran. When I reached the gate, I jumped over it, and landed onto the street. Then, I ran to my home street, which wasn't too far.

I entered my house, and walked to my room, which was upstairs. Once there, I shut the door, and the blinds, and laid down onto my bed. I stared at the ceiling for a few minutes, before falling asleep.

During the late night.....

*Flashback/Nightmare*

"Saphire, please! I don't care if my clan kills me for doing this. I love you. I won't kill you!" I said, gripping her hand.

"You have to." She said, pulling my hand towards her chest. My hand shook, and so did the kunai in my held hand. "I love you too." Her bright blue eyes shone, even in the darkest night. Her long black hair flowed in the wind. Everything about her drives me crazy. And now I have to kill her.

"Goodbye.... Jin." She said, before she pulled the kunai towards her chest.

*End of flashback/nightmare*

"SAPHIRE!!" I screamed, as I sat up quickly. Adrenaline pumped through my veins, as beads of sweat formed on my head. My heart was racing.

"Saphire...." I whispered as my heart rate slowed. I sighed, and stood up. I walked throughout the house, trying to remember something about my past. Something happy, at least. When I reached the kitchen, I could see many people around the room. Some were sitting down, and there were some children playing around. I could see a woman at the stove, cooking a pan of stir fry. A young boy asked her: "When will supper be ready, mommy?"

"It will be done soon, Jin."

That's right. My whole clan lived here. Every one of the relatives lived here with my parents and I. Even Saphire lived here....

She was an orphan. Father found her, and made her an honourary member of the family. Father said that she would've made an excellent wife. I believed him. My father was very wise. I smiled, remembering how much time Saphire and I spent together. After my parents passed away, she was the only one whom I could turn to.

I also remember when we were at the lake...... we were 16 at the time....

*Flashback*

"Jin, is there something you want to tell me?" Saphire asked, concerned.

"Can I tell you a secret?" I said, facing her.

"Of course. We're best friends, right? You can tell me anything. Come on, tell me!" She said, tugging my arm.

"Anything? Even the secret about how long I had a crush on you ever since we first met?" I said, blushing. Her eyes widened, and she blushed. She slipped her hand into mine, and smiled when our eyes met.

"Is that the way you really feel about me?" She asked, leaning closer to my face.

"Yeah...' I said, before our lips met.

*End of flashback*

I smiled, knowing I remembered something like that happened to a guy like me. But now.... I'm starting to fall for Yuuki.... is it because she reminds me of Saphire? Or something else?
