Summer Camp

Chapter 8

Josh Pov

I woke up and the sun was shining into my face through the window I covered my face and groaned. I heard the door open and then close and foot steps get closer to me

"Get up you lazy ass" said a male voice "go away Luke I'm sleeping" I responded

I heard a sigh and then felt my blanket get thrown off my body instantly engulfing me in the coldness I shivered and sat straight up glaring at Luke and he laughed.

I noticed I was still in underwear and quickly grabbed my blanket pulling it over myself and he rolled his eyes "I'm leaving soon so get dressed and meet me and Lane at the breakfast bar in 20 minutes or lane will come down here and you don't want that, trust me" he looked like he remembered something horrible and then laughed leaving the room empty with only myself. Marcus was probably already up and at breakfast which left me alone.

When I got here I was so scared. Scared of the people, the treatments, and scared of myself. But people here are so nice and I'm getting used to waking up in this bed and getting to go outside and do fun things that aren't Homework and Random math problems.

I was always made fun of at home I was always forgotten and it felt cold even when it was summer I didn't think anyone would ever love me but I came here and now I have Lane, Luke, and I think Marcus likes me a little too

The door slammed open "JOSH IF YOU DON'T GET YOUR ASS OUTSIDE-" she looked at me in confusion "what's wrong?" She asked and I noticed I was crying "nothing I'm just glad to be here" I smiled and grabbed my clothes heading for the bathroom

"Okay well if you don't hurry up I will steal all of your clothes and make you streak" I chuckled and yelled "whatever" I heard her faint laugh as I closed the door and got dressed.

---at breakfast---

I sat down at our table and instantly was met with Luke asking me a question

"WHAT'S BETTER STAR WARS OR STAR TREK" I hesitated not knowing the correct answer

"star wars?" Lukes face brightened and Lane looked at me with misbelief

"SEE EVEN HE THINKS STAR WARS IS BETTER" Luke shouted

"look that's too few people lets ask some one else" lane looked at Marcus who had headphones in and quietly eating toast with eggs. She ripped out his headphones and he looked upat her "WHAT'S BETTER STAR WARS OR STAR TREK" he looked very confused and asked a question that made me, lane, and lukes mouth drop

"what the fuck is star wars and star trek"

...

It was silent for a moment

then screaming

"WHAT DO YOU MEAN WHAT'S STAR WARS AND STAR TREK" Lane screamed making the other campers look at us in an uncomfortable way

I put my head down and started playing with the strands of hair that fell in front of my face then I heard another yell

"SORRY EVERYONE FOR MY FRIEND GO BACK TO WHAT YOU WERE DOING" I laughed quietly and put my head back up once I started hearing people talking again a small smile on my face looking at Lane yell at Luke and him just smiling back at her.

They look so cute together like a husband and wife

She's pretending to be mad but really they are both smiling

It's like he is the pen and she's the crayons

He drew her the world and she made it brighter

I must of looked pretty lost because I got a tap on my shoulder bringing me back to reality and then heard a quiet male whisper "you okay?"
