"Hey, Anna! How was hanging out with a friend?" My mom asks cheerfully. I smile and sit down across from her.
"It was fun. She showed me this new shop that has a ton of Anime and Comic Book stuff in it. She had to leave randomly, but that was okay." I explain. My mom nods.
"Sounds like you had fun. Also, could you pick up your room? It's getting a little messy." She asks. Since we live in a small apartment, my mom tries to make sure that it is as neat as possible. And that includes my basement bedroom.
"Sure." I head downstairs and put some of my dirty clothes in the laundry basket, make my bed, and tidy up my desk. Then I pick up a pencil and my math homework.
x • 67 + 80 = 37
Great. Multi step equations. Luckily the teacher went easy on us and only gave us 20 problems. As much as I hate it, math is pretty easy, so I'm done in no time. Then I can finally pick up my phone, which has been buzzing with text messages.
Carlie: Hey
Carlie: Anna
Carlie: Answer me
I sigh and reply.
Anna: Hey. Sorry I was doing homework.
Carlie: Cool. So can you meet me somewhere?
Anna: If it's in Brooklyn, sure
Carlie: Darn it. Oh well. Bye

And that's it. She just forgets about it. I set my phone down and decide to wrap my mom's present. Hopefully she likes it.
