The weather channel had called for lots of rain and some scattered storms. They recently released that there was to be a very bad thunderstorm in your area. There was no threat for tornados or hail. Just lots of wind, rain, and lightning. With lightning there comes thunder, and with a big storm like this, who knows how loud it could get.

You weren't terrified, but you didn't want to be woken up by loud, ground- shaking thunder. Luckily, you could wake up in Cameron's embracing arms.

The night of the storm, you and Cameron stayed in and did stuff around the house. Cameron worked on things for future events, and you tidied up the house. It was a quiet day inside while the rain thudded against the windows.

"Need any help babe," Cameron asked as he walked into the living room. He just finished his last work task, and now you could work on the house together.

"Can you gather up the laundry in our room and bring it down to the laundry room please?" You replied with a smile.

"Of course," he said enthusiastically and reached toward you for a kiss. He kisses you and turned to go upstairs.

He was up there for maybe 30 seconds and boom! A loud clap of thunder shook the vase sitting on the kitchen table. You jumped a little from surprise. The lights flickered for a split second, and the everything was back to normal.

"Cameron, you ok?" You yelled up the stairs. You didn't know what happened up there.

"Yeah! It's all good!" He yelled back down the stairs.

You walked back over to the carpet you were sweeping. Seconds later, Cameron came back downstairs and put the basket of laundry in the laundry room.

"Thanks Cam," you said and put the sweeper back in the closet.

"What do you want for dinner?" He asked while walking into the kitchen.

"Cameron I can make it. Don't worry about it."

"No, I insist. You have been working in the house all day while I've been working on my butt."

"Ok, but I get to help you," you said and walked into the kitchen. "What do you want?" You asked while looking in the fridge.

"Whatever you want," he said while walking up behind you, giving you a hug.

"Hmmmm," you said while thinking. "How about tacos?" You turned around and completed the hug.

"Yeah. Sounds good," he smiled and began getting out pots and pans.

After you two made dinner, you set up the table and ate peacefully with small talk. The rain became louder against the roof and windows. There was a bright flash you saw out of the corner of your eye. Seconds later, clap! The thunder roared and shook most of the house. You almost choked on your water.

The lights didn't flicker this time, bit your heart was thumping pretty quickly. You were surprised you didn't jump out of your seat.

"That was a loud one," Cameron laughed.

After dinner, you and Cameron cleaned the dishes together while watching TV from the other room. There was to be a loud storm all night. Your stomach sank. They should of just said 'oh, tonight there's a big storm. Yeah, have fun. No sleep for you.'

"Hopefully the power doesn't go out," Cameron said.

"Yeah," you said. "That wouldn't make anything better," you put away the last dish and wiped the table off.

You went upstairs to get ready for bed. While you were up there, you thought another clap of thunder would sound, but surprisingly it didn't. Looking through a window in your shared room with Cameron, you heard the loud winds breaking through the trees. The rain was still pouring, and you could see the drain down by the street getting stopped up. Hopefully no one would be driving in this, or else they would be driving through a flooded street.

Soon after, Cameron came upstairs and got ready for bed too. Then you two got under the covers and watched TV for a little bit.

While resting your head on his chest, another rather loud clap of thunder made both of you jump. The TV lost signal for a minute or so, but it turned back on. A lamp on you side of the bed completely went out, so Cameron turned the lamp on his side on.

"You ok?" Cameron asked while wrapping his arms around your waist.

"Yeah, just fine," you smiled and kissed him on the lips.

You eventually turned the TV off and scooted next to Cameron for more warmth. He didn't hesitate, and put his arm around you.

"I love you, Y/N," he said and laid his head against the pillow.

"I love you too," you said and rested your head on his chest. You eventually fell asleep as well as Cameron.

A few hours passed before a loud booming crack shook the while house and woke you up. You were terrified and almost started to shake. Cameron had woken up too because he grasped your waist.

"It's ok," he said and spooned you.

"I wasn't expecting that," you laughed a bit. Another flash of lightning struck and you tenses up, ready for the thunder that lied ahead. Of course, that roll of thunder wasn't too loud. Your body relaxed and you began to close your eyes.

"I'll keep you safe," you heard Cameron's voice say before you began to fall asleep. Although the thunder wasn't really life threatening, it was nice to know that Cameron could help keep you secure and you could do the same for him.

I know this one's longer than usual. I just kept writing and now it's basically 10 pages lol. Thank you for reading! :))
