(Monday: Afternoon)

While me and Mimi were heading over to her car after practice, I peeped Jasmine leaving with her sister. I could tell it was her sister based on the family photo albums Jasmine let me see the first night I stayed over at her house.

Memories...

Too bad! She fucked me over... She dogged me out. She hurt me, and she played me. Not only that, but she humiliated me.To top it all off, she ruined my most prized possession of my mother.

I want to kill her for that...

BUT given the circumstances of how her life has changed. I've cut her some slack. She's lucky I even speak to her.

"Jade..." Mimi says in an hushed tone, bursting my thought bubble.

"Hm?" I ask looking her way.

"You getting in or not?" She chuckles holding the passenger door open for me.

"Oh, yeah. My bad." I mumble in embarrassment. I took one last glance at their car while it drove away. Then I finally got in her car.

She shut my door then got in the drivers seat shutting her own door. Us both putting on our seat-belts in unison, she chuckles at me then starts the car off. Pulling out of the parking lot, I stare out the window with my cheek rested against my knuckle.

While I thought silently, for the first time the atmosphere got pretty awkward. That was until Mimi plugged the AUX cord into her phone. Tuning in on the song "oui" by Jeremih.

Immediately our moods brightened as we began to sing along to the song. Mimi laughing constantly at the way I dramatically lip-synced the song. I feel my phone buzzing from my pocket so I pulled it out.

My father was calling and I furrowed my eyebrows at my phone as I just stared at the screen. The call caused my whole phone to vibrate repeatedly, and I just continued to stare at the green and red signals.

"You gone pick up?" Mimi asks while keeping her eyes on the road.

"O- Oh, yeah..." She turns down the music and I finally answer the call, "Hello?"

"Where are you?"

"I- I'm on my way back from practice..."

"Good. Come home now."

A sickening feeling took over my stomach. What could he possibly want me back home this early? I remember the last time...

"I was... going to stay over at a friend's place, Dad." I usher out lowly.

"Nah, bring yo ass home now, Jay. I ain't playin' with you! Yo brother on his way back."

"He's what?"

"He's comin' home. So, bring yo ass back home NOW," he hangs up the phone and I mutter underneath my breath in disbelief.

"Who's what?" Mimi asks with curiosity peaking through her voice. "I mean... not to be nosy—"

"Nah, it's okay." I sigh out of relief, "It's my brother. He's finally coming home. I'm actually damn near tears." I sniffle, fanning my eyes to keep from crying.
