Angelina finally got her younger brother to calm down after witnessing his other sister disappearing in the distance after the bus left her there. "Why didn't the bus wait" Sam asked his sister who was holding him in a hug. "I don't know Sammy but she's gonna be okay she has dad" Angel said to calm her stressed and upset brother. "Yea she has Dad" he reassured himself. Angelina looked out the window and counted the stars as she let her brother sleep peacefully on her shoulder. _____________________________ The bus came to a stop and I wake softly work Sam up, we grab our stuff and slowly walk out the door. I looked around at the new environment that was in front of me. I saw a soldier by the door handing out a red tag to every kid as they came off the bus. "Go stand in the red circle and Wait for your number to be called" the soldier said and handed Sam and I a number. I took Sams hand in mine and We walk to the red circle as we were told to not moments before. "What's your number nugget" I asked and he shows me he his and I look, 304, I look at mine, 305. "We have to wait" I said nervously as I looked around us at all the children, some were crying and others were scared. A number is called very loudly and I shock my head at the fact most of the children jumped. "Here" a familiar voice said. I look in that direction and see him. "Ben" I whisper. I watch him walk to the soldier and walk into the building. He's alive, I smile in relief but my mind started to think about what he's been through and if his family is all okay, then Sams number is called, the color from his face left and I have him a quick hug to show him I was there to protect him. I walk up to soldier with him. "Are you both 304" he asked with no emotion what so ever, which gave me the chills as I had a very bad feeling about all this. "No I'm 305, this is my brother " I said with a sharp tone not liking him at all. "Ok 304 come with me" he said and I look at Sam. "I will find ok nugget" I said and watched him go in. I went back to the cycle and waited. "305" I walk to the front and show him my number and with no response we walk in.
I sit on a medical bed looking around at the monitors and equipment,I was quickly blinded by a light that flashed in my eyes. "Name" Reznik asked with a sour but serious tone to her voice. "Angelina" " any family known to be alive " She said like my name didn't matter. "My brother Sam" I hesitate before continuing with the rest of my family. "My mother got killed by the virus and I don't know if my sister and dad are alive" The soldier known as Reznik looked at me with her over done face of makeup. "But the virus didn't get you" Reznik asked curiously. "No it didn't because I'm here ain't I" I said sarcastically, rolling my eyes at the military personnel. "But it effected your family, it took your mother" she said and stood me up. I looked at her like she was stupid after I just told her it killed my mother she repeatedly said it again. "You know why your here Blade" she moved my hair from the back of my neck and I looked at her confused. "Who is Blade" I asked. "It's your code name now, it has meaning that you are sharp in what you do" she said with a smile on her face. I suddenly feel a sharp pain in the back of my neck and I gasp. I look at Reznik who was now I front of me and I lift my hand to the back of my neck. "What did you do" I barked at her angry. "We have put a tracker in you so we know where you are if you and your squad ever go out in the field" I felt the small device under my skin and looked back up at her. "How do we know what we are fighting if we don't know who the others are" I ask looking at Reznik. "Want to see one" she asked with a smirk on her face.
We walked into another room with a one way glass seeing the reflection of Reznik and myself. Before I said anything she pushed onto a button and I saw a kid strapped to a chair. "Don't worry it won't be able to see us" she informed me. I looked at head device attached to his head. "I know he looks like normal, but look through this" Reznik handed me a eyes equipment that I was unsure to trust or not. I looked through it and saw a weird thing sucking on the boys brain. "That's it's true form, we have tried everything down to surgery but nothing worked, if you want to kill it you have to kill the host" she said and gave me a red button. "Kill it" she said. I looked at the kid and hesitated as I pictured Sam being in that kids position so I looked away trying to hold back the tears and she yelled, "Look again" I looked again and she started to have an aggressive tone to her voice. "The others killed your mother" I growled, "Your father" I got angrier as memories flooded into my mind. "Cassie" I pushed the button pissed off and seeking revenge for what T Others have done to my family "Welcome to the fight" she patted my shoulder. "Your in squad 53" she said and walked out leaving me there shocked at what had just happened.
A soldier walked in and took to my assigned barrack and handed me my uniform. I put my bag and journal in my footlocker at the head of my bed. With me being one of the first ones there I decided not to choose a bunk and a single bed. I went to the Bathroom and changed into my military uniform and sat on my bed. I watch everyone come in either confused or scared and I looked at them with a reassuring smile that it was gonna be okay. I have finally started to meet my squad as they came in, so far I have meet Flintstone, Oompa, Dumbo, poundcake and teacup. Still sitting on my bed and I talked to tea cup slowly taking a liking to her as she wasn't that much older then Sammy, I heard the door open and saw Ben walk in confidently as I got off my bed and looked at him, I saw our squad walk up to him. "So your the squad leader" Poundcake ask. "Yes, Zombie" he held out his hand. They shook hands and I leant against the bed leaving the team to meet him as they didn't know who he was but I did. Ben saw me and his face light up with excitement, I couldn't help but smile as he walks to me. Once he got closer I wrap my arms around his neck and he grabs my waist, pulling my in close. "I through you were died" he said as he buried his face into my shoulder. "I'm a fighter parish you should know that" I said and we let go, I saw some one else come in and I sighed in relief. "Nugget" I call and walk away from Ben and ran to Sammy hugging him for dear life. "Angel" he softly cried as he held me tightly. We all got settled in and I looked down at nugget. " you ok kiddo" I ask him. " yea I just miss her" He said as a tear slid down his cheek. " I do to" Reznik come in and barked. " lights out" Before turning the lights out and slamming the door. I sat on Sam's bed and tucked him in. " can you sing " I nodded. " yea of course " " no you will not" dumbo said. Flintstone and Oompa agreed by responding with hums and yes. " you guys will shut up before I ripe your tongues out" I said in a semi-aggressive time and looked at sam. He fell asleep and I saw everyone else was too, I climbed in to bed and closed my eyes. I will find you Cassie. (Meanwhile)
