"Wow, that's so loud. Won't they get deaf of something?" I muttered as he pulled into the driveway of the mansion. I could even feel the vibrations of the music pounding under my feet. Getting out of the car, I tried to pull down the short dress to reach my knee before walking towards Brad. I sighed as I look at the grand house, I was already regretting to come. Some were puking their guts out down the street, I shuttered. Brad grabbed my hand and squeezed it a little. I looked into his hopeful eyes, took a deep breath and entered the house.
The smell of sweat, alcohol and perfume hit me all at once. My senses heightened to find oxygen to breathe. "Emma, are you alright?" Brad pushed my chin up for me to focus on his eyes.
I nodded, feeling a little light-headed, "Yea, just... I'm going to get a drink."
He shook his head at me before pulling me up the stairs into one of the rooms, "The punch is spiked, I warned you before. Are you alright?"
Nodding my head, I took a deep breath and reached for his hand as I squeezed it, "We're here to celebrate Christmas. Let's dance!"
He looked at me weirdly but I rolled my eyes and pulled him downstairs. I started dancing along with Brad as he chuckled and spun me around. Then the music changed, it was more lyrical and slow. He put his hand around my waist as I placed my hands around his neck, laying my head on his chest, breathing in his scent which calmed me a little more. As we danced along with the slow music, I closed my eyes.
"May I have a dance with this beautiful lady?" I heard a voice and opened my eyes to see a guy with black shaggy hair looking at Brad and I. I pulled Brad a little closer, letting him know that I do not want to dance with him as I just wanted to dance with Brad. Thankfully, Brad got the message.
Brad shook his head at the boy, "Sorry, but this stunning lady is taken and I'm not going to share her with anyone, not tonight, not ever." He looked right into my eyes and leaned down to my face, closing the gap between him and I, my breath hitched. Is he going to kiss me? I wondered. He's eyes are so blue; it was dark sapphire with flecks of light sky blue in it... They're so pretty... I leaned up a little closer to him. Our breaths mingled and I could smell his minty yet mixed with citrus breath. My eyes fluttered close slowly. Time seemed to slow down as we inched closer and closer until...
"Police, all under eighteen is arrested for the presence of alcohol!" Our lips were just inches apart when we both jumped apart, alarmed by the booming voice of the police.
I tried to run away but Brad stopped me and muttered under his breath, "If you run, we'll be locked up in an even safer cell. Well, you're in disguise, I'm not. If you can get out, run away. Don't bother me, understand? And don't even think about changing your looks..."
I nodded my head a little before lingering a kiss on his cheek and changed back to my original look, "Thank you, Bradley, for the dance." He smiled but frowned a little before we were separated and handcuffed.
"Well, well, well, look what we have here... Prisoner 998 and 999. The infamous two. We thought 999 was dead though... That would have saved us a lot of trouble. But this is priceless, two Prisoners in a Christmas party together?! My my my, look at my luck today, wonderful! Are you two from the same organization?" The fat police man swung his baton at us. I furrowed my eyebrows, Bradley was a prisoner? I looked at him but he did not meet my eyes.
"Oh, I see what's going on... 999 didn't know 998 was a prisoner? Aww that's sad, did your boyfriend not share anything about it before? He had done many bad things like you, you know? I guess he doesn't love you as much as I thought..." He continued to taunt as I tried to keep my face blank.
But Bradley cut in, "She's only thirteen and she's in jail, how is this possible?" He turned to look at me in disbelief while I ignored his stare.
The fat policeman glared at Bradley, "You're 15 and you've been to jail-"
"That's because I-" Bradley started but was interrupted by the fat policeman.
"I would keep my mouth shut when someone with authority is talking." He dragged Brad away from the wall onto the floor in the middle of the room before whacking him with the baton at least ten times. Every hit, every sharp noise that sound, I struggled to not flinch in response.
That night, Brad tried to talk to me, but I ignored him as I was still upset that he did not tell me about his past experiences in prison...

The next day, they asked the same questions and Bradley answered the same thing again and again. They replied to Bradley's answer by hitting him repeatedly. His shirt was already stained with blood. Every time, I struggled to keep silence. Afterwards, I would help to clean his wound. Still, I would keep my mouth shut and ignore his apologies.
"I'm sorry that I didn't tell you. I did not think that it was important. I am the only one on Earth as a Soard. It was easy to get bored." He winced as I placed the cold wet towel on his wound which was healing slowly but the skin was still raw.
"So stealing and committing crimes were the solutions?" I rubbed the towel against his wounds, adding a little pressure to make it hurt.
He flinched away a little before sighing, "I'll explain when we're out of this hell hole."
"Which will be never." Another voice cut in before I could answer his statement. We both turned to look at the man in the suit, he looked awfully familiar.
"Now, do enlighten me, what is a So-ared? Or whatever you call it?" The man in the suit took off his sunglasses, recognition lit in my eyes, it was him. The one who interrogated me before I escaped this stinky and smelly box.
"A Soard is a figurative language in our childhood. It means politician in a way. I was not supposed to misbehave as we agreed to become politicians when we were younger, more naive." Bradley answered as he rolled his eyes, I swear on my life that he is craving for his death, wanting it but will not have it yet...
"Oh, really? Well, I'll have you both know that you do not have the chance anymore." He smirked and tucked his sunglasses into his pocket.
"Hence he said 'when we were younger', do you not understand his English?" I rolled my eyes in response as I was annoyed with the fact that we were not respected.
"Well, since the both of you are here, I'm here to say that your hangings are to be held on Saturday, which is... In three days... Enjoy your last three days." He smirked before shoved his hands into his side pockets and walked out.
I looked at Bradley in the eye and held up a hand as he opened his mouth. He shut his mouth in response. I sighed and leaned against the wall, missing the warm sun or the pale moonlight shinning on my skin...
